Another bonus DS160 question: The Argentine passport doesn't have a "city where issued" section. Our research online shows that the equivalent would be "autoridad." My fiance's passport says Ranaper, so should we put that or Buenos Aires? It looks like Renaper is just the name of the office itself here in the city.

Hey, completely unknown user for me, I just said Buenos Aires. As a point of contact, I wrote my fiancees family and then I said I had no family members in the States.

Everyone else: Hi!! I was wondering if you translated your birth certificate and if so, how did you do it? Did you translate it yourselves or did you pay for a service? If the service is Argentine, do we need a certification from the college of translators?

Thank you!!!

I agree with Buenos Aires and putting the contact information you have. Just be honest and tell how everything is. If they have doubts they will ask you in the interview.
You don’t need to translate the BC for the interview, but yes for AOS. I translated myself and did a certification letter signing that I was fluent in the lenguage

Hello everyone! I've barely started this process but I'd like to get ready beforehand.

I'm adopted, and I'm not sure where I'm supposed to get the adoption decree.

Also, regarding the "Acta de Nacimiento", I've only found the option to get a "Partida de Nacimiento". I'm not sure if the "Partida" is the same as "Acta" or as "Certificate". I requested it online through the goverment website.

Also, my mother lost my vaccination calendar, so I'm wondering what I should do about that.

Thank you in advance, and good luck to all applicants!

The P3 instructions packet says it needs to be certified, yes. But I've seen people translate it themselves. I'm going to use an official translator just in case.

The Registro Nacional de las Personas should have the adoption decree.

Acta and Partida should look the same. I and @andyazcu got them through the website and it worked fine, even though I decided to use the original.

As far as vaccinations, contact Dra. Grillo to see what she would suggest.

Yes 'partida' is the correct one. When you're choosing between options, select the "paid" version, I think was $315 pesos when we did it. This will get you a certified copy (it'll say copia fiel del original on the PDF they send you).

My husband also didn't have his full vaccination history so Grillo just gave him what he needed for the visa according to his age and waived the others. Just let her know your situation.

So, I got the birth certificate and the adoption decree came with it, but there's a problem... The adoption decree has a typo!!! Instead of saying "Marina" it says "Mariana"

I'm really scared and I don't know what I should do because I wouldn't want to have any problems with my application because of this error 😭🧐🥶

I don’t know what you should or where you should make your complaint, but you need to get it fixed. That typo is something really important in the whole process, is your name.
Get on the phone and start calling the institutions. Or get online maybe you can fine information about correcting the decree.
let us know any information you get!

Hey everyone,  One question...for the interview should I print again the evidence of relationship? It's quite a lot 😌

thanks!

No, if anything, just bring new ones. Good luck!

Do make sure you bring all originals, though, for birth certificates, etc.

Hey everyone! I wanted to thank everyone for all the help! We had our interview yesterday and we were approved! However I'd like to share some tips for those who are waiting for the interview.

Please be super patient when waiting for the interview. I was supossed to have mine at 10.30.But they called my name at 1!!! ( I was the only person left in the waiting room haha!) There were 3 people before me and each interview lasted around 45'. Mine took between 5' -10'.

Please bring extra copies of your paperwork just in case, because in my experience, they said I hadn't sent my police certificate in packet 3,  (I was sure I had ), So I gave them another copy .But, It turns out that when they gave me back a bunch my paperwork that was on the p3, I found my police certificate! So they missed to see it. I have no idea who checks packet 3. But be sure to have extra copies.

So... for those who have already been here, what should I expect now??? How long does it take for them to issue the visa? 😁

We are going to sound old, but we are just referring to the fact that ours was back in June 2019 and the government, etc. was different.  Back then, it was about a week that the visa was ready for you to pick up.  They will give you the passport with the visa and a sealed package that you should not open.  There will be some tear in a corner, that is normal.  You must travel with this and turn it in at the POE.  As I have shared previously, make sure you have it with you as a carry-on, preferably a backpack.  I have shared lots of tips about traveling, since I am a frequent flyer, but I can re-share if needed.  CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations! Thanks for those tips!

So, you didn't end up re-printing all of your evidence of relationship in the end to bring in?

Also, what is Packet 3? I have never heard of that? (Is it specific for the K1 visa? We are applying for my husband's CR1 visa, so maybe that's why I have never heard of it?)
