For those who need their birth certificates from CABA, here is the info I found:

FIRST

To obtain your Acta (if you don't have the original): https://www.buenosaires.gob.ar/tramites/solicitud-de-partidas and select "Partidas pagas" so you get a certified copy. They will email you a PDF or you can pick it up at your closest civil registry. Cost: $315 pesos

SECOND

Once you have the Acta, you must legalize it with the Ministry of the Interior (Av. Leandro N. Alem 150): https://legalizaciones.mininterior.gob.ar/public/controller/index.php Enter your info and then select a date and time to appear in person to have it legalized. Cost: free

THIRD

To use your Acta in the U.S. (for AOS/EAD/AP, etc.), it must be apostilled with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Esmeralda 1214): https://www.argentina.gob.ar/legalizar-o-apostillar-un-documento Same as above, enter your info and select a date and time to appear in person to have it apostilled. Cost: $300 pesos

FOURTH

Translate everything (including apostille) into English using a certified translator. We used https://www.daytranslations.com/ for other documents we're submitting. We scanned everything, uploaded it, and had the full translation/certification in 24 hours.

For the interview, you really only need step 1. But we're doing everything else in advance since it's easier and faster while still in Argentina. :)

Hey, everyone! One question: We have the PDF of the Acta, and I was wondering, should we print it to have it legalized, apostilled and translated? Or should we restart and get a physical copy instead? Thank you so much for all the help. This thread has been priceless throughout the whole VISA process.

Hey Everyone! One question please, I'm checking some timelines similar to ours, and I'm kinda worried because I see that most of you have received P3 really fast after getting to the Embassy. I haven't received any news yet, and it's been almost two weeks.

Is there anyway to check why they are taking so long or what's going on? I've sent an email to the embassy a few days ago but I have no answer.

It worries me not being able to get averything ready and set a date for an interview if they notify me so close to noa2 expiration 😭  please help?

Delay might be due to the holidays and offices closing in BA in January. Believe some people on here waited a bit longer last year in January for those reasons. @Fernanda R Sanz might be able to share some insight?

Here's the thread dedicated to Jan/Feb embassy from last year:

Also something to note is you can ask to extend the NOA2 date I believe.

@andyazcu hey! I didn't wait for the US Embassy to notify me, as soon as the NVC sent me the notification that the US Embassy received my packet, I asked my husband (fiance at that time) to call the US Embassy in Argentina ( is faster)  or contact them by email (that's what we did) they took a week to answer back and that gave me the chance to move forward with the medical exam appointment. Also check my timeline If you wanna see the dates and my Consular Interview review. Hope this helps!😊 Good luck!

Gracias @Fernanda R Sanz hay que presentar también un certificado si nunca estuviste casado? Dónde te lo dan?

Is not mandatory but I did anyways, sent a copy with the P3 and had the original just in case if the Consul asks for it, but in my personal experience he didn't.

I'm from Buenos Aires, so I had to go to registro de Las personas in La Plata to do it in person so you get it the same day,if not, I had to wait a month (that's what the lady said in Lomas de Zamora) it costs more but you get it for sure with no delays. When I did it, the cost was $500 pesos. If you are from Buenos Aires, when I'm back home I can send you all the steps I did.

Oh ok! Thanks! I was checking online, just to see options, and there is something else called " CERTIFICADO DE SOLTERIA", maybe that works too?

The " CONSTANCIA  NEGATIVA DE MATRIMONIO"  I read you can do it in the city where you live and takes aprox 15 business days. Just what you said.

So maybe I could go the first one?

Thanks!

Quick question. Do I need to put the passport and a copy of the bio page inside P3 that gets delivered at the embassy?

Thanks

Yes, also if you have previous passports take them with you to the interview. Same thing if petitioner has old passports, take a copy of them as well as the petitioner current passport

Ok, I was a little confused because in the steps of the first page, they sent Packet 3 first and then do the medical. But you need the passport at the doctor's appointment.

My fiancee has the medical on the 21st and the interview on the 27th. So I guess I need to sent P3 right after that. Don't know if that's enough time for them to review the P3.

@WickedWorld in my experience I didn't wait for them to send packet3 instructions. I searched on the US embassy for the  P3 instructions to start having everything ready, did medical with my passport, then sent p3 to the US embassy in person, with copy of my passport and petitioner passport pages plus other paperwork, and after paying the Visa Fee they opened dates for me to schedule my visa Interview. I don't remember quite well, but I think they took like 2 to 3 weeks to review my paperwork, and I sent a very big, thick binder with copies and I also had, still have another binder with all the originals (I took this binder to the interview just in case they could ask for any original. The consul only asked for my husband's original birth certificate, he thought my husband was an Immigrant with greencard  instead of a citizen born in the states.).

Don't worry for timeframes, if you have sent P3 and already have an interview scheduled they will review it before you actually attend the interview. If they can't, your interview date could be rescheduled by the US Embassy and of course the beneficiary should be notified. (So far I had never seen this scenario happen, they have always made it for you not to have any delays)

You only need to put a copy of the biopage in Packet3. Bring the original passport and old ones to the interview
