You can do it in any Registro Nacional de Reincidencias. Go to rnr.com and look for the nearest to you. Some places ask for appointments and in others you can do walk ins. It cost 180 pesos and you will have it in 24 hs. It has an expiration date so try to do it at last. Make sure to say you need it with con excepción del artículo 51.
oh! And sometimes you can do it online too. It depends if rnr has your fingerprints or not.

Hi guys,

I have a quick question. My case is in route to the embassy, and I got an email with case number and a link with instructions. I was reading said instructions and in one sections says " Documents in foreign languages, other than the language of the country in which the application takes place, should be translated. "

What does this mean? Do I need to translate birth certificates, police certificates etc. from spanish?

Thanks.

No. You don’t need to translate those for the interview. It says ’other than the language of the country in which the application takes place’. That means that if for example you were born in Brasil and your Birth Certificate is in portuguese and then your interview is in Argentina, in that case you will need to translate.
You can save some time translating the BC for the AOS process

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the useful BA-specific information. I am in the middle of a IR-1 so it may be a bit different than the K1 requirements... but I am wondering about:

1. Do I need to bring a copy of every page of my current and expired passports to the embassy interview? Or just pages with stamps/info on them?

2. I ordered an official copy of my birth certificate online with the PDF digitalized signature, do I also need to get it stamped somewhere else? I also have the original original birth certificate (very small shaped and old-looking), should I bring that one as well?

Thanks!

Hey there!

1- Just a copy of the bio page. But take the originals of all your passports to the interview embassy

2- you can legalize the digital copy in any registro civil. Take the old one too to the interview

Wait for their answer. They will let you know when they are ready to take your case. You can email the embassy again maybe from another email just to check. They usually answer back with the instructions for packet 3 or telling you to wait. It depends on their work load

Hi everyone! We are planning to turn in our Packet 3 on Tuesday because my fiancé's interview is on December 9th (yayyy!).

I'm trying to make sure I'm doing everything properly on the I-134. I am self-employed and make significantly more than the poverty limit. I'm going to include my tax return which should make that very obvious. Do you think I need to request letters from my banks and clients? I forgot to do this and now I'm not sure if I really have time to do so.

Also, I'm wondering what the Packet 3 actually looks like. Do you create a table of contents page just like the I-129F? I'm not sure how to organize it all. For example, do all of our photos need to be in labeled ziplocs, do we need the binder clip on the full packet and no staples?

Thank you for the help!!!

Hey! Welcome :)

For self-employed, I believe the FULL tax return will be enough as that will detail all your income. What they want to see for the 1099 is the Section C. You could also include invoices marked paid or just your bank statements from the past 12 months. Believe some people on here just printed them from their bank website, no need for the certified bank letter.

For Packet 3, we did do it like the I-129F, very organized and neat. We had a cover page with "K1 Interview Original Submission", his name and case # and a table of contents but we didn't go all out with tabs or anything like we did for USCIS. We just printed everything in order then clipped it with a huge binder clip and put it in an envelope (labeled again with his name and case #). We mailed ours to the embassy with DHL.

Also keep in mind you have to bring all your originals (photos in bags, actas, etc) with you to the interview. What you give the embassy in Packet 3 can just be copies and anything you do forget, just bring that day. It'll be fine, don't worry.

Hope this helps, good luck!

This is so helpful, thank you!! I really appreciate it.

One last question -- are we supposed to include the picture of the front of the medical eval envelope in the packet that we submit or send it to them via email? The language in the packet is really vague.

Thanks!

We just included a photo/scan of the front of the envelope in the packet, then brought the actual medical envelope to the interview.
