Hi! I read somewhere that medical results for Argentina expire after 60 days, is that correct? Everywhere else online I've seen 6 months.

We just received our NVC case number today. I could start working on P3, but we are not actually going to move to the US until February 2020 (5 months from now). Do we need to wait and do the interview at the end of December and medical shortly before that?

Thank you!!

We were in the same situation, we didn't plan to move right after the interview so we asked the embassy for some dates a bit further out from what we saw was available. When your case is Ready, just email them dates you're looking at and they'll help you schedule it :).

For the medical, we did ours about 10 days before the interview. It's valid for 1 year (you need it for AOS) but I think @Fe.Ta and @Javier Mera had some issues with vaccines expiring. The 6 months you're seeing is probably because the K1 visa is tied to the exam date, so you have 6 months from your completed medical to go through POE in the states.

@danilich33 I created some confusion myself in others posts because I was confused and was misreading some documents.  After some discussion and re-reading some things, I can tell you this:

If you have a completed medical exam from Argentina, it is good for 6 months in order to enter the U.S. once the visa is issued.  So, yes, you have 6 months to go through POE (point of entry).

The completed medical exam is good for 1 year in order to file for AOS once you have entered the U.S., gotten married, etc.

A completed medical exam must have all the required vaccines, DO NOT let the doctor tell you that they can be done in U.S. because you will have to do another medical here, which is what Javier and I had to go through.  The only exception to having the required vaccines not completed is if there is a shortage of the vaccine or is not available in the country.

Hope that helps and sorry for any misinformation from before or whatever.

I believe the medical exam you get done for the K1 interview in argentina it's valid for 6 months or 1 year. I believe there's confusion between that medical's validity before the interview, and after you have entered the USA and want to file for AOS. I'm pretty sure that the medical examination for AOS needs to get done again, because from Argentina (again this is our experience) my wife did not get any proof other than the shots history, that she had been tested for the other exams (bood, urine, and physical). Also there are certain exams that expire after only x amount of days. This is the case with the MMR shot which is only good for 30 days, or at least that's what the clinic told us here when we went to appointment with a Civil Surgeon. My wife had to get it again because her shot was given in April for the K1 interview. And again, even if the medical examination is good for 6 months or 1 year, that shot is only good for 30 days.

Hopefully this helps and does not create more confusion.

I think you should only worry for getting into the US without an expire medical exam. Take as the medical exam is another visa.

Then when you are here, you get marry and you file AOS

After that, 3 things can happen that you can prevent. Is just matter of how much time AOS takes for you (most timelines are 18months). 1) you can receive a RFE saying that they need a new medical exam 2) when you receive your AOS interview date, they can ask for a new medical exam 3) Your medical exam is good and you don’t need anything else.

I hope you can understand what I’m trying to say. Is always difficult to try to explain myself in ‘technical english’ haha

Hello all!  Just trying to keep this thread alive.  I am here in case anyone needs help with the interview process, etc.  I try to be active as often as I can, since we are going through the AOS process.  Any updates?

Hey @Fe.Ta!! Hope you are doing well! Our petition is en route to the embassy so patiently waiting to get our "Ready Status." It shipped out on Sept. 3rd so hoping for some good news this week! I know we'll probably have questions pop up after we get that, kind of have done all we could up until knowing when our interview date will be.

Been watching the posts and even pinned some things to reference for us later so we aren't duping questions. Everyone is so helpful and we've really appreciated what others are sharing!

Also, sorry hear about the delay in your process @Andrea + Gaston:( I've watched your timeline a lot since your dates were really close to ours (and then we got slapped with that RFE). Hope you guys can get things sorted soon!!!

@KBCN Thanks for the kind words and congrats on being at the embassy stage! Ask if you have questions.

For us right now, everything is out of our control. We depend solely on the court and Registro Civil's timeline, so all we can do is wait and hope for the best. Unfortunately it's looking like another 2+ weeks (with another paro today) so that means I won't be here in BA to celebrate as originally planned. Hopefully once we get the document we need, the embassy will be quick to issue the visa and we can get back to being excited.

So sorry to hear that! Al least is being taking care of.

For most cases the embassy takes at least 1 week to answer back that they received your information.

Keep the good energy around. You are almost there!

Hey everyone!

So my fiancé just finished doing his medical today at Dr. Grillo's and they didn't actually give him the "sealed medical packet." They gave him this vaccination records document and told him to make a photo copy of it and put it into the packet to deliver to the embassy with our other documentation (same document needed for AOS). She informed him that they would deliver the sealed medical packet to the embassy, and then when he arrives to the embassy to let them know that the medical packet should already be there.

Did anyone else go through this? Just curious because I thought I had read that you guys actually got the sealed medical packet after leaving the doctor's office (same day). But maybe I was reading things wrong.

You are never handed the sealed packet until you are approved and handed the visa. At that point, you do get everything to hand at POE.

Ahhhhhh ok, thanks @Fe.Ta - I feel like everything is getting scrambled in my head trying to make sure everything is perfect 😅He was also given the x-rays but told to only take them to POE  - not the interview, is that accurate too?

Obviously, we trust the doctor, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask you kind folks with the experience!

Yes, that is correct. You must have it with you on your carry on. They may or may not ask for it at POE. Just better have it than not.

Dropped off our packet this morning!!! Now have to wait for our interview on Oct. 10th! If anyone has any additional tidbits on what questions might be asked or other information we should know, we are more than grateful to get your advice! I did check some of your timelines/profiles and those that left embassy reviews was super helpful!

I also wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for helping, providing their own information on what they did, and your own experiences! You all have been so helpful and I'm so fortunate that we had a place to go to ask questions and get answers and help! We even ran into the same issue on the Police Certificate as someone else without having the article on it, and because of someone sharing what they did, were able to easily get it corrected in 24 hours! So seriously, just thank you all so much ❤️
