Not to the interview.  But, do bring it to the USA.

Awesome thanks!! He can put it in his checked luggage or does he need to show it at Customs with his other immigration envelope?

The big packet (the one you get once you are approved) must be in his carry-on (book bag, easy reach) because he needs to turn it in.  The x-rays don't have to be turned in at POE or customs, but I would advise you to have him put it in a carry-on as well (suitcase so it won't get folded or creased) because if he puts it in a checked luggage, there is a chance that rain can ruin it, it is mishandled, or misplaced.  Better safe than sorry!  My first time to Argentina one of my suitcases got lost and SUPER wet, so I speak from experience.  I was not concerned because there weren't any valuables or documents.  FYI.

For those of you that are already in the USA or will be in the USA by the time Election Day happens in Argentina.  The deadline to change the domicile was April 30th, 2019, so we are not eligible to vote from the USA.  To be excused and not penalized, you have 60 days (after Election Day) to use this website and excuse yourself:  https://infractores.padron.gov.ar/

We got this directly from the Argentina Consulate in Miami.  Of course, you are welcomed to double-check with your local consulate or embassy.  Just thought we would share.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for all of the great info you've shared. I have a question about the medical exam expiration. I emailed the embassy today and they said the medical exam is good for 3 to 6 months, depending on the case. Can anyone who has already done the medical exam tell me what the expiration says on the sheet they give you? After a bunch of research, it seems like the expiration of the K1 visa itself is the date you had your medical exam + 6 months (not actually 6 months from issuance of the visa). Can anyone confirm that? Thanks for the help!

In my case, I did my medical exam on April 24th and the expiration date is  October 22nd (6 months). And then my interview was the next day, April 25th and they Issued the visa the same day so is the same date and expiration on October 23rd.  So is not really what you were assuming.

My expiration dates are close from each other because I’m from Córdoba and did everything in one trip to Buenos Aires. If you do the medical exam a month before the interview, of course it will have a different expiration date than the visa because they were made in two different dates. Do I explain myself?

Thank you, that definitely helps. The main thing I was concerned about is if the medical exam were to expire in 3 months instead of 6 months. Knowing that generally the medical exam is good for 6 months makes me feel better. For various reasons my fiancee can't come to the US until after Christmas so having that extra time is key. Thanks again for checking!

Most of the medical exams are valid for 6 months except if you have a medical condition that needs to be check out sooner or something. You can always delay your interview too. Closer to the end of the year. You can contact the embassy and said that for various reasons you will wait for the last part.

Hi all, an update from us:

We had the interview this morning but received a 221-G as his marriage certificate does not have the marginal annotation required to note his divorce (even though we presented the original divorce decree). We now have to get his marriage certificate updated in the court which could take a few weeks. 😕Does anyone know if we need a lawyer to do this? From reading the process here https://www.buenosaires.gob.ar/tramites/divorcio it seems we do need one but we're not 100% sure.

Other than that, the interview experience was fine. The people were nice, the questions were easy, but we left feeling very sad and frustrated that everything for us is on hold now. 😔

I am sorry to read this! :(  But, everything happens for a reason.  It does get delayed, but you will be together forever soon, so focus on that!

Here is an update from us:

Had to do a medical in the USA for AOS because of not letting Dra. Grillo do them in Argentina (even though she said it was perfectly OK to do them in USA).  Two blood works need to be done and another vaccine.  Medical ✔️ DONE ✔️ One blood work ✔️ DONE ✔️.  Doing the remaining tomorrow so we can have the Form I-693 by next week and we can mail the AOS (if Hurricane Dorian let's us :)).  SOOOO:

ADVICE:  DO VACCINES IN ARGENTINA NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU.

I’m so sorry for what you are going through. Is something really easy to solve and you figured it out how to do it already. I’m don’t know about the lawyer because neither of us wad married before. So I can’t help you on that.

Best of luck and keep us updated!

The link you shared states that you can go to the "Colegio de Abogados".  I wonder if this works like Colegio de Esribanos, where you won't hire a lawyer, you would just pay for any one of them do legalize or do whatever the divorce paper needs.

Hi! I read somewhere that medical results for Argentina expire after 60 days, is that correct? Everywhere else online I've seen 6 months.

We just received our NVC case number today. I could start working on P3, but we are not actually going to move to the US until February 2020 (5 months from now). Do we need to wait and do the interview at the end of December and medical shortly before that?

Thank you!!
