Thanks @andreaam!! We had to do an RFE because there was an admin error, they said that my fiancé was previously married (and he never was), so he had to go get a Single Status certificate and then we had his mom do the translation and signed a document that said like she was proficient and capable of translating, got her to sign and notarized it, etc. So good to know something like that will be sufficient!

Collecting and waiting on the stuff for the RFE and then coordinating translations and notary signatures, took us like 3 weeks to get the RFE returned so I know we are probably "jumping the gun" at little bit on things, but with how long it took to get those items before, I just don't want to be delayed again and trying to be proactive as possible!

Really appreciate the help!!

@KBCN Welcome and congrats on your NOA2!! It took us about 3 weeks from our NOA2 date to get the NVC case # and then another 2 for it to be in Ready. If you haven’t already, join the August K1 NOA2 > NVC thread. Lots of helpful info and people with similar dates to you in there that can assist with NVC stage.

We worked on our P3 pretty far in advance. You can definitely start getting the acta situated. First go to https://solicitudes.buenosaires.gob.ar/suaci/solicitudPartida to request the certified copy from the civil registry. Select the paid version and they will email you a 3-page PDF within a week. Then you need to legalize it https://www.argentina.gob.ar/legalizacion-de-documentos-publicos fill out the form and pick a time and date to go. It’s free and done in less than 10 minutes. After that you can apostille it at https://www.argentina.gob.ar/legalizar-o-apostillar-un-documento. Finally you’ll need everything translated for AOS. Basically everything once you’re in the states needs to be in English. https://www.daytranslations.com/ is our go to :)

You can also start putting together additional evidence of relationship since your NOA1 date. For us, we had 2 additional trips between March and July so we included passport stamps, tickets, and photos from both. We are including updated letters of intent as well as ongoing WhatsApp/Facetime screenshots. You can also start filling out the I-134 and start gathering tax transcripts for the last 3 years (2018, 2017, 2016) at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript. We are including my last 6 months pay stubs as well as a letter from my bank to prove financial support without a joint sponsor.

Everything else is pretty time sensitive. We are waiting til closer to the interview to get the medical done, police certificate, and some of my financial documents so that they’re the most up to date they can be when we present them.

I’d wait til your case says Ready to start the DS-160. We waited until we received the email from the embassy to officially book the interview.

Other than that, @andreaam’s post on the first page of this thread is pretty useful in terms of what order to do things.

If if you have any other questions we’re here to help!

Thanks so much @Andrea + Gaston!! I went ahead and already pulled the tax transcripts from that site! We'll start working on the Acta and the evidence too!

When you guys got the "Ready" email from the embassy, did you just go ahead and book the interview? I'm assuming you haven't turned in/dropped off the P3 yet? If that's the case, do you get to select your date or do you get assigned one from the embassy?

Thank you again!

Yes, but we did the DS-160 first. You need that confirmation # to schedule the interview (it's on the confirmation page after you complete/submit the form).

We got to select our date. You'll pay the fee ($265) and then it will show you dates and times available for the next month or so. If there aren't any available just email the embassy and they will open more. We emailed them asking for end of August and they responded within 24 hours.

We have not dropped off our P3 yet, but it's almost ready! Probably in the next 2 weeks or so. I'll post a list of what we sent once we send it :)

We scheduled the medical for 8/8 :) A few questions:

  • Did you bring the entire P3 instructions or just the 2 pages labeled "INSTRUCCIONES PARA EL EXAMEN MEDICO"?
  • After it's complete, does Dr. Grillo give you a copy of DS-3025 for AOS? Should we ask her for this?

Thanks all!

Thanks all!

I printed the part of ‘Examen medico’ but never no one asked for it.

Grillo must give you a copy of the DS 3025. I don’t think you have to ask for it because is her job to complete the one for the embassy and give you a copy. She will give it to you when you go back for your results. Anyway, if it makes you feel better, you can ask for it to be sure.

Hey I have a question in here:

I have mine since I was born, my mom gave it to me and it was the one my mom used for getting my Argentine ID and stuff when I was a baby, do I still need to request that to the website you mention?

As I understand this step is only for AOS and not for the P3 am I right?

If you have your original “acta”, then just submit a copy and take the original to the interview.

Yes, legalization and apostille is only for AOS, so no need for it on P3. But, definitely do it before you leave the country.

We took his original acta at first (same as you described above) but we were unable to legalize it because it was so old and in plastic. So we were advised to get an updated copy before the interview. Hope this helps :)

If you have the original one in good conditions, I would do it with the original. If the condition is not as good or in plastic, then follow the steps as shared to get the digital, legalized copy and apostille it.

If you’re unsure if your original is ok, I would just get the copy for peace of mind. Even though we’re planning to submit the copy for P3 we are bringing the original to the interview and with us to the states to show at green card interview. I think they just like to compare the 2 to verify 🤷🏼‍♀️
