Congratulations!!!!  you must be really happy! these kind of posts fill me with joy! I cannot wait to be with my finacee and i still have a loooong way to go! it's been a month since we had our NOA 2 and we still dont have our NVC case number, but as i've been reading yours took like 6 weeks so I guess we have nothing to do but waiting! Congrats congrats congrats! :D

Thank you so much! ❤️

Yes, mine took like six weeks. It was the longest waiting in the whole process. For other people here was faster so, you might get lucky!

Keep positive thinking, work really hard on your patience (for you and with each other) and enjoy your time in Argentina the most that you can.

If you need anything shout out over here!

Good luck!

FIFTH schedule your interview through this website

  •  https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ ----- inmigrant visa applicant ------ register ------- I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment --------- sign up with your email

Hi, first of all thank you so much for the information it truly was a lifesaver!

I have one question that I really need help with in the instructions you left us you said to select "inmigrant visa applicant" when scheduling the interview but from everything I've read the K1 VISA is a "Noninmigrant" type visa.

This is from the travel state gov website:

Overview: What Is a K-1 Visa? The fiancé(e) K-1 nonimmigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) of a United States (U.S.) citizen. The K-1 visa permits the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) to travel to the United States and marry his or her U.S. citizen sponsor within 90 days of arrival.

So I really need some help with this since we have everything ready and are just waiting to schedule the interview correctly; which option should I choose?

Yes, it is considered a non-immigrant visa.  Unfortunately, in some of the websites and places it is treated as an immigrant visa.  So, even if you try to follow the non-immigrant side, you are going to see it won't list it was a option.  Thus, this is why we said you should go through the immigrant visa side of the page.  Hope that clears it some for you!

Hey guys,

Kind of a weird question, does anyone know what you have to do (file or fill out) when your fiance moves to America so they aren't penalized for not participating in elections? We did some research about filling out a police certificate as proof if you are 500+ kilometers from where you live so you don't get penalized, but this seems to be more based on still residing or being in Argentina and not really living another country/America. Just curious if anyone knew, thanks!

Hello! I asked this question myself a while back. According to @andreaam, since the exit is noted on the system when you go through security at EZE, and taking the distance into consideration, there is nothing else you need to do. However, if you want peace of mind, then go to the closest Argentina embassy/consulate and do whatever they suggest.

They already know you are out of country. But to do thins better You have to go to your nearest embassy/consulate and change your adress. I’m out of town right now because of my husband’s job but when I’m back I’ll go to do that for myself for the next election and I can tell you more then

The fee if you don’t vote is 50 pesos from what I last read

Do you know what we would need to change the address?  I know sometimes they want a statement or something.

I think it's best to contact your embassy in Orlando, because proof of residence might be different from state to state. Universal things like a signed lease, state ID, bank statement, utility bill could probably work.

Thank you for your input. The one in Orlando is permanently closed, so we need to go to Miami. Plus, my husband decided to vote. Ha! So, Miami here we go!

Hey guys I have a question! next week its gonna be 6 weeks since we received our NOA 2 and we still dont have any notice from NVC... My fiancee doesn't wanna call them cuz he said this kind of process takes time and we need  to be patient (I dont wanna be patient 😣 lol) so when you got the NVC case number how is it.... is he going to receive a letter like he received the NOA2? or I am gonna be notify by post mail when all the papers arrive to Buenos Aires? how it works? Thanks in advance :) :) :)

He can receive an email saying that the packet left NVC and is going to the embassy.

Now that 6 weeks went by, you should really call to ask for the number so you can track it on the CEAC website

You can call, just tell them it’s a K1 visa and have your NOA2 date and receipt # ready. They might ask the petitioner name, your name, birthday, etc. for ID purposes. Just ask for any updates on your case and they will give you the case number if they have it.

Whenever I called they were super helpful and nice. :)
