Thanks for getting back to me. I submitted mine late afternoon on the 7th, hopefully I'll get the same too.

Finally got a response from our tier 2 service request.   We were informed that our applications are on HOLD pending biometrics.   We allegedly have been resubmitted into the scheduling system for an appointment. Time will tell.

Congratulations, that is excellent news!

We contacted USCIS this morning. Spoke to a service rep that was actually very nice and very helpful. We did not even speak to a Tier 2 because he handled everything so well.

We mentioned that my wife's father is sick, and we have medical records to prove it. We asked about expedited Advanced Parole (for travel) and he went ahead and put in a request for an INFOPASS appointment. He also put in a request for "non delivery of biometric appointment letter" and said that will take the typical 2-4 weeks.

A Tier 2 supervisor contacted us about 5 minutes later, after hanging up with the first representative. They scheduled an INFO PASS appointment for us, to deliver my wife's father's medical records in person, and hopefully get approval for Advanced Parole immediately. Our appointment is Monday and we are pretty excited.

I hope that during our appointment we can get our Biometrics completed, and maybe even apply for expedited EAD, with a job offer letter we have. I can only hope and wish.

I am just glad that USCIS finally made some decisions and has actually tried to help us. I keep reminding them they cashed our check within 4 days, but haven't done anything since. Hopefully Monday we will get approval to travel, which is most important for us. We dont mind waiting for green card, although it would be nice to get an SSN for my wife, so she can have a bank account and actually learn to drive. She's been here 6 months now, and hasn't been able to do any of that! I know she feels like a prisoner in this new country she is supposed to call home.

Hi All,

I need to make a proper profile. here are the details - Wife is from Peru, came on a K1 visa. Date of NOA1 for AOS was May 24.

We got an RFE at the end of July for my 2018 taxes for I485. I had filed an extension so I didn't include them at the time of submission in May. I sent that out and the case status was updated on Aug 6 that the national benefit center has received the evidence and will be processing again.

The good news is at least someone is looking at it. But I have not received anything for biometrics appointment. I see from the prior posts that a lot of people are having the same issues. I will give them a call tomorrow morning and try to see what the problem is and report back.

Thanks all for so much detailed information. It has been helpful to me over the last year and a half and I figured I should at least make a profile to load in my dates to help others. Thanks.

Hey guys, does anyone have any information on how the cases are gonna go after biometrics appointment for those who waited so long for biometrics? I am one of those people,  sent my package may 13th and my biometrics appointment is next Tuesday (so I waited for awhile to receive it)

I am just wondering,  does it put us back in line with other may fillers (meaning we wont have as long of a gap between biometrics and an interview) or we simply lost almost 3 months for nothing?

Theoretically the interviews should be scheduled based on priority date but not sure.  I'm half contemplating requesting an expedite for ead/ap based on uscis error

From my experience I would say it’s still based on your received date. I got my biometrics letter on Jul 31st, biometrics appointment was scheduled for Aug 12th but I did a walk in on Aug 2nd, and I already have my interview scheduled for Sep 24th.

I spoke to tier 2 again today about nearly 3 months of no biometrics.  Again the person on the phone was very helpful, perhaps I was lucky considering others experiences with tier 2 here.

They told me there is a big backlog and it was totally dependant on the local office who are dealing with it. I'm assuming this would explain why some have received theirs biometrics whilst other filers have not. I'm at El Paso, a border town.

What is promising is that i was assured that the biometrics delay does not upset or delay the AOS, EAD or AP process. I asked if my case was being worked on and was advised it was in the 'final stages prior to interview'

Granted this doesnt help my EAD expedite request (job offer) but was reassuring.

Understand this doesnt ease the anxiety but hope it does offer some clarity, if anything.

I don't want to be a debbie downer but on some of the answers you got fed the company line.   Biometrics has nothing to do with the local office but the ASC which are two different places and are not backlogged to this level considering a biometrics appointment takes but 10 minutes to complete

YMMV

Thank you! Cincinnati. We moved from los angeles before we started the aos process, which was lucky in a way, the wait times area lottt shorter lol

Just wanted to update, after a terribly long wait ,finally I received biometrics for I485 yesterday. Still nothing on the I765 though but I am glad at least something came. However, nothing has been updated in my online status. Still just says fingerprint fee received.
