How do I know which office I chose for my final appointment? I have a hard time understanding where my case even is (MSC/National Center). That was difficult to figure out, in itself. I do not remember choosing an office for the final appointment? We really dont care where it is, we want to know when!

We chose San Antonio. It is on page 8 of the form i-130, item 61.a. I'm adjusting from F-1. I'm not sure if K-1 AOS has to file i-130. You can check the one closest to your address here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices or here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office

Austin does not have an office for interview.. I believe the Austin one is only for biometrics appointments and other stuff.

Correct. K1 visa AOS does not have I-130. Never heard of it either.

San Antonio office is what we expect. San Antonio is the closest office when I put my zip code into the USCIS service center locator tool. Thanks for your help.

I just called USCIS and it said the wait is too long and call volume too high. To try again later. What a bunch of BS.

The tool doesn't show the closest office; it shows the one that normally handles cases from your zip code (that's not always the same).

USCIS recently announced a policy of trying to move some cases from more backlogged field offices to other offices, but in your case it's more likely that cases from Houston and/or Dallas (which are extremely backlogged) would be moved to San Antonio than that your case would be moved elsewhere.

My RFIE arrived today and they are requesting a copy of the birth certificate...
For those who are on the same boat, did you send them the exact same copies that you submitted initially? Did you get a response from them?

Thank you in advance!

Yes but colour photocopy this time

Good to meet others from the San Antonio local office! I hope we all have a speedy journey. Houston I hear has an insane wait time for AOS but I haven't heard anything from SA, good or bad. What does y'alls current status show when you check your case?

It just says the fingerprint fee was received. They cashed our checks almost two months ago. Kinda angry about it.

But you have had your biometrics appointment. We have had nothing. We expected biometric appoint over a month ago. Now I get to play phone tag with people I already paid $1200+ to. Fun times.

It was accepted fingerprint fee and now that a RFIE was sent (birth certificate). I got an email from USCIS saying that my application is at the National Benefits Center. After googling more about it, it seems that it's where the applications go for checking documentation. If everything is ok, they move on to schedule interview.

Not yet because they sent me the letter that I never received. It was scheduled on June 4 but I just recently discovered that. I had to talk to a tier 2 to find out and reschedule. I will have that on August 1st. Waiting for the letter to do an early check-in. In which office did you do your biometrics appointment?
