I have just encountered something similar to another poster above. Filed the AOS and EAD/AP May 3rd. June 3rd was biometrics.

Just received a notification by txt and can see on case tracker that I-485 is ready to be scheduled for interview. Absolutely no change for the EAD/AP.

Mare they trying to be efficient and just knock out 2 birds with 1 stone? If the interview is set done and conditional GC is given then there is no reason to have an EAD/AP when one has a green card.....

Or is this just the normal/usual state of affairs?

I'm pretty sure it's the normal/usual state of affairs. This is the last status change and then we sit and wait. It doesn't mean that they are actually scheduling the interview now, just that it's the next step. I don't believe it means that the interview is coming soon. You never know, the interview scheduling will be done based on the speed of your local office.

So today we called USCIS again and they told us that they sent us a letter yesterday basically just saying that my husband's biometrics appointment has not been scheduled yet. 😞

Dave said they were really nice on the phone but didn't have much information.... Just that it will take more time.  They also told him that it doesn't necessarily mean our green card or EAD/AP are delayed, just that the biometrics cannot be scheduled yet. Very frustrating....

How long does it take to get biometric? I got my NOA 1 51 days ago.

Well most people used to get it within a month from NOA 1. So 51 days is definitely long. I am also waiting for around 45/50 days now.

I am also on the same boat regarding the biometrics.

My husband and I called USCIS on Monday and we received an email saying "USCIS systems indicate that we created and mailed you an Application Support Center (ASC) Appointment Notice. It appears that you may not have received this notice. You should be receiving a copy of the appointment notice shortly. (...)". 😔 it does not say when they sent us this letter... and if the date has passed, we need to reschedule it... more delays 😭 (we called them so many times to ask about the biometrics appointment and they said that no appointment was created... )

I called USCIS today for at least have the information about when they scheduled the biometrics appointment. They transferred me to a tier 2 and will call me back in 19 hours.. omg..
And to complete the journey, I just received an update that an RFIE was sent today.... has anyone here received one? I heard that a lot of people received RFIE asking for birth certificate.. I am 100% sure that I sent mine and it was a longer version with my parents info and with the English translation copy.. I am wondering if they are sending those RFIEs to save more time to process the cases..

I'm very frustrated today 😭

Some updates about my case: I received the call back from the Tier 2 and she said that our biometrics appointment was scheduled on June 4!! We never received this letter...
I was able to reschedule the appointment and they will send us the notice... For those who are in similar situation, I recommend asking to talk to a Tier 2...

I got an RFIE for my birth certificate that was issued in English by my government and contained all the required information. Included 2 copies in the original submission but apparently something was "wrong" with it. It seems like they've been sending a bunch of those lately, perhaps to buy some time idk

Thanks for sharing your case. I also think they are sending those RFIE to buy time...Let's hope for the best in this journey...

If you believe that the birth certificate RFIE is a "game" being played at the National Benefits Center, and you've got nothing better to do with all your spare time, then you have the option to open a complaint with the DHS OIG for Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.

I just called USCIS telling them that I've been waiting for 52 days now for my biometric letter.  She did a service request thing for me and said to call back if I don't get biometric within 30 days. Do they tell you guys the same thing?
