We didn't get an RFE but it seems more than a few AOSers from March/April are getting an RFE for Birth Certificate, even though they included it in their original packet.

This brings up another good point. If and when you do get an AOS interview appointment. One of the items listed on the I-795C AOS appointment page is to basically bring all your documentation related to your visa journey thus far. We took it to mean every shred of paper, original documents, picture, form, copies of evidence.  With regards to original documents, I scanned all of the original documents,  I then put the originals in simple plastic presentation sheet protectors. I then  printed out a copy or two of each of the original documents with a color laser printer, organized with the originals in the plastic page savers.

At the AOS interview the IO asked to see my divorce decree. I recall sending a copy of it with the rest of my original Form I-129F visa petition. However, no problema. I pulled out the original in the presentation page saver and the copies. I asked him to compare the copy with original, and if he needed another copy, to please take the copy, and leave me with the original. He took the copy. I feel that that little maneuver saved us from a RFE and the associated delay. He could have asked for anything, We were ready with originals/copies as described...we were prepared.

HTH.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Hey guys I see your Biometrics appointment is on July 8th and we are 3 days later so hope it all goes well for you and then...... the wait begins!! Have a great summer.

Thanks. Glad to hear that your case is progressing along as well. It is weird that our NOA1 took so long but the biometrics appointment followed fairly quickly after that. I guess there is no rhyme or reason to the process. Have a great summer as well!

Got an update today again that "we are still reviewing your case..." but it did state that the last time they touched our case was June 16th (the monday after we showed up for Biometrics) so that means they probably processed them. dunno. But I'll take it lol

Anybody had luck yet with expediting EAD?

I do not have a beneficiary since I am the applicant, they are just asking for my Birth Certificate. Figured out why. I sent a COPY of my english translation document instead of a ORIGINAL english translation, I guess that might be the problem. Anyone have experience in this?

It states that I must provide:

(1) a copy of the original document in its foreign language; and

(2) a full English translation of the document

Thoughts? I submitted a copy of both.

Sending a copy of the translation should have been okay. We used the same translation that he got in Lebanon for the interview and just made a copy of it. There's been no RFE as of yet. Sometimes, they lose papers. That may be the case.

You can’t expedite until you’ve done biometrics.

Hey how are you doing? Well finally got my Biometrics appointment letter today and will have my wife's bios on July 11th. What's the update on your noa1 and biometrics?

We did finally get processed, NOA1 date of June 18 so took about 3 weeks.

Good news is biometrics appointment letter was sent 3 days later and she's scheduled for July 10th.

Now the problem is EAD which is taking a long time for people now...it's always something!
