So my husband just called USCIS and as usual, we have a super confusing answer.  He said that they told him they could see that we called on June 11th and for some reason that restarts our 30 days???  So they said now we should call on July 11th if we haven't heard anything by then........???  I really do not understand this.... I am going to try and call back tonight when we are together and question them more because they told us before to call back on June 26th so this July 11th date seems out of nowhere.  They also mentioned that the service request that was put in on June 11th has not been touched.... Feeling that all too familiar helpless feeling of dealing with USCIS 😭

Sounds like they were just annoyed you kept calling to me...trying to make you not call anymore. Which is ridiculous. This whole process is so infuriating and feels like a neverending waiting nightmare. Get one good news, wait for another

Hi Friends,

Sharing my biometric appointment experience.

I had my biometric appointment on June 27, 2019 at 9 am at Grand Junction, CO. It was quick and easy. I reached at the ASC in Grand Junction, CO at 8:40 am. There were only two ladies at the center. One in a uniform and other in a casual attire. The lady in the uniform greeted me and asked if I have an appointment. She asked for my appointment letter and an ID. I handed over my passport and my appointment letter to her. She checked and then returned both the documents and asked me to take a seat. The other lady asked for my form and handed me an Applicant Information Worksheet (AIW) to complete. After I handed her the completed sheet she asked me to sit on other chair where she clicked my photo. Then fingerprints for all the fingers were taken individually. Once that was done, she stamped my Biometric appointment letter with "Biometric Processing Stamp" with the site code and the date when the biometrics were done. She gave me a feedback form and asked to put in the dropbox once done. I asked if there is anything else and she said its all done.

The whole process took less than 15 min and I was out before 9 am. The staff was very friendly and professional.

Sorry about this frustration. But when you call request to speak with a T2 person. The T2 person would be able to answer your questions more clearly. As far as I know and with my experience recently, calling to put in a service inquiry does not restart anything. Putting in a service inquiry is simply trying to find out about the progress of your case. For example you can put in a service inquiry to find out about the date set for your Biometric appointment.

Hang in there! There are a few early May filers who are also waiting on their biometrics letter. Is your EAD expiring or your EAD extension? I believe there's an automatic 180 day extension if you are currently waiting for AOS.

Did your wife's HR speak to the Insurance recruiter about it? My HR at first said she probably wouldn't be able to add him, but then she said let me talk to our insurance recruiter and see what we can do but no guarantees. Apparently there's an option to add someone and click no SSN when prompted but it was turned off on my HR person's profile so she wasn't able to see it. After he received his SSN, I updated the records but I was able to add him to that and as a beneficiary to my life insurance policy without a SSN.

My EAD is expiring. My case is a bit unique as I have had DACA since 2012. Me and my husband recently got married, after being together for 9 years! We decided to go through the AOS in hope of me not having to renew my DACA. I think there is a 180 day extension while going through AOS but I’ll have to look more into it. I can’t afford to loose my job!

I am in a similar situation. Package sent 5/28, delivered 5/29. No text or email, and credit card has not been charged. Quite frustrating as I paid extra to overnight it. Planning on calling to see what, if any, information they can give me.

I assume the number I call is USCIS Contact Center toll-free at 1-800-375-5283. Can anyone confirm?

Hey how are you doing? Well finally got my Biometrics appointment letter today and will have my wife's bios on July 11th. What's the update on your noa1 and biometrics?

You and I have the same NOA date, and ordinarily I'd get excited that the appointment date is in the mail (what an odd thing to get excited over...), but we all know how this works. I'm starting to get concerned that this is taking much longer than usual, but it's good to know that I'm not alone, and those with NOA dates around mine are eventually getting their appointments in the mail. So there's still hope yet as I really don't want to have to call them (based on what others have said, I'm really not the kind of person to be bouncing up and down on a phone for hours on end!)

I would be looking for that biometrics letter sometime this week so hang in there!! Then comes the looooooong wait for the EAD/AP and the interview.

05/13/2019: Package delivered to Chicago Lockbox

We will let you know if we need anything else from you as we continue to review your case." Is this normal? Hubby and I are getting anxious waiting for the biometrics letter.

I am in the same boat as you guys. I have a similar timeline, sent my package just 3 days later than you. Still waiting for biometrics letter and starting to get worried as some of the June fillers already got their biometrics appointment letters. It is especially weird considering I am from Ohio, a not very popular state for immigration...

Hopefully I receive it soon, I plan to call them again on Monday.

Also, when I called last Monday, the lady told me that biometrics letter supposed to come within a month from receiving a physical NOA1 in the mail. I got mine on June 10th even though the Notice date on it is 05/20/2019. So it took USPS 20 days to deliver a letter... I am thinking its due to the change of address as we moved recently. I am thinking to call on Monday and tell them I received a letter on June 1st...which would be exactly 30 days

Didn't get an RFE yet and hope to not get one period!! It's pretty standard if you missed something so just go ahead and give them what they need and remember to include a cover letter stating the correction and documents included. The turn around time is about 1 or 2 weeks when they recieve your RFE documents they requested. What was the RFE for if you don't mind me asking? I noticed you don't have a timeline filled out so go ahead and do that so we can help you in your journey getting your AOS Biometrics appointments and interviews.

We are in a similar situation. Packet sent on May 20 and received on May 21 at the Chicago lockbox. I called yesterday and was told they would be opening up an inquiry and would take up to 30 days to get a response. They have no record of receiving the package and my check hasn’t been cashed either.

Hey guys I see your Biometrics appointment is on July 8th and we are 3 days later so hope it all goes well for you and then...... the wait begins!! Have a great summer.

We didn't get an RFE but it seems more than a few AOSers from March/April are getting an RFE for Birth Certificate, even though they included it in their original packet.
