Hey guys! I sent my documents on May 13th, they received it in May 15th

On May 21nd I received text messages with my recept # and I havent got anything since. No NOA1 hard copy nor biometrics appointment...should I be worried?

It so happens that we moved a week after we sent in the documents so now I am worried that NOA1 got sent to the old address...even though I changed my address on USPS website so all of my mail should be delivered on the new address.

It has seemed weird to me for some time that you have to include six photos of yourself when you submit your AOS/EAD/AP applications concurrently.  Yet, they also take your photograph and fingerprints when you "give them" your biometrics at the ASC biometrics appointments. Is that conserving resources?

I always assumed part of it is not just taking it "for your record" but also "verifying it is same person" E.g. fingerprints taken during Embassy interviews, then at CBP, then at "biometrics" all matched together as well as pictures. But maybe I am giving the process too much credit.

I always felt the same, until I actually started thinking about it. All of the biometrics given are digital, right? I would assume that all of the info that shows up on CBPs terminals at the POEs are also digital. Surely USCIS also has access to that digital info, since they are the ones that first collected it at the ASC biometrics appointment. Why the need for us to send in two photos per application at the AOS phase of the process? Did I miss something?

I don't recall if USCIS has the notation : "DO NOT FORWARD" on their envelopes. Can someone that has recently gotten a notice from USCIS confirm or dispel the idea of the above notation?

Did you file your change of address with USCIS? I think that you have to inform USPS and USCIS of any address change.

Yes, that's what I did! I informed both uscis and USPS

I am thinking maybe they sent the notice before I moved out and changed my adress so the people that moved in to our old apartment got it... otherwise I dont understand why is it taking them so long

There have been recent changes in EAD/AP combo card processing times and in assignment of AOS interview dates. Please check current VJ processing times: https://www.visajourney.com/content/times/, and some of the NUMEROUS recent threads/comments on the topic in the AOS Case Filing and Progress Reports Forum: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/131-adjustment-of-status-case-filing-and-progress-reports/

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Hard to say. For my family the ASC biometrics appointment letters had a notice date of 9/5/12 with an appointment date of 10/2/12. The AOS interview appointment letters had a notice date of 10/12/12 with a AOS interview appointment date of 11/19/12. The ASC Biometrics office was the USCIS Seattle Field Office. The AOS interview also took place at the USCIS Seattle Field Office. At the interview, the IO claimed that he had just received our files, don't know if he meant the field office had just got the files or HE had just received the files. He did not elaborate, and quite frankly that was the furthest thing from our minds at that time (if you know what I mean).

YMMV

Gotcha. I noticed because the service center on the appt letter said NBC. Idk if it stays that way even after it gets transferred or if it changes later.
