Hello friends,

I arrived in the US on May 08, 2019 and got married to my US fiance on May 21, 2019 (within 90 days of my arrival into the US.)

Mailed AOS package (I-485, I-764, and I-131) via USPS  -  May 30, 2019

UPSC delivered the AOS package to USCIS  -  Jun 02, 2019 at 8:56 pm

Text Notification from USCIS (3 SMSs with different receipt numbers) - Jun 05, 2019 at 10:18 pm

Our check for the AOS fees was debited so I guess we are on right track; however, I have few questions:

1) What are the next steps that we need to do?

2) My I-94 is valid till August 5, 2019. Since I have already sent the AOS package what will be my immigration status once I receive the notice in the mail or what would be my status once my I-94 expires?

3) My receipt numbers starts with "MSC" which I found is the National Benefit Center. What is or How do I find the processing time for MSC/National Benefit Center?

4) I am located in Grand Junction, Colorado and there isn't any local CIS office. How do I find my nearest CIS office?

Thank you

Hi everyone!

My husband just had his biometric appointment this morning!

He said everything went smoothly. Got there about 15 minutes before the appointment, asked for his appointment letter and id. Stamped his appointment letter and gave it back to him for our records. They scanned his fingerprints and off he went. He said it only took about 5-10 minutes!

Do you have to submit photos or do they click photos there during biometrics?

Such a good mail day today! We received his social security card, all his NOA1s (received date 5/24; notice date 5/29), and medical insurance card. All on the same day lol now hes almost set! We will try to go next week to the DMV and see if we can get a state ID for him. Hopefully we don't get too much hassle!

What kinda medical insurance did you get for him? I am looking for medical insurance too. The medical insurance under my spouse from the workplace is pretty expensive so I am looking for an economical one. Also, what is a state id and what are the requirements to get that?

I got the one from work through BCBS of TX. For the both of us it's 157 a paycheck which is a big increase from my single status (33 dollars a paycheck) but still not as expensive as other companies I'm sure.

And idk if all states have them but it's literally just a government issued ID. You can't drive with it like you would with a driver's license but you can use it on official paperwork (like leases, banks, etc). The requirements are the same as the DL minus car insurance and registration (which you also don't need for DL if you don't own a car). But since my husband hasn't driven since he was 16 and we don't have an extra car anyway, I don't need to get him a DL just yet. After we get a spare car and we can get him into driver's ed to refresh his memory, he can go apply for that as well.

What kinda medical insurance did you get for him? I am looking for medical insurance too. Is Rocky Mountain HMO still in Grand Junction still in business? They may have some relatively inexpensive plans. I just went online and looked for reasonably price health insurance plans for my wife and stepson. The medical insurance under my spouse from the workplace is pretty expensive so I am looking for an economical one. Also, what is a state id and what are the requirements to get that? Each state's laws are different about IDs and driver's licenses. Below is the link for Colorado.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

It should be OK. However, if you get a USCIS office worker that only scans the front side of your paperwork, you could be in for a wild adventure in RFEs. I believe in saving natural resources, but not at the potential loss of your paperwork. IMO.

It has seemed weird to me for some time that you have to include six photos of yourself when you submit your AOS/EAD/AP applications concurrently.  Yet, they also take your photograph and fingerprints when you "give them" your biometrics at the ASC biometrics appointments. Is that conserving resources?

Wow... 157 is still better. Mine through my spouse's workplaces comes close to $500 a month. :(

The hoops our lovely government forces us to go jump through.  Makes absolutely no sense.

Yea... its totally weird that they ask to give not only passport size photographs but also I-94, marriage certificate and other common documents for every form. It doesn't make any sense to ask multiple copies of documents unless all the forms and those documents are going to different location for processing.

I got rejection for I-765, I-131 today by mail.

I mailed all files with green card, I-765, I-131, I-485, I-130 in May, They didn't send back my I-485 and I-130, does that mean at least they accept my green card application?

I'm confused now is that I-765 rejection is that 'fee is not correct'. I remember if I applied I-485, I don't need to pay extra $495 for I-765

Why you submitted I-130??? You only had submit I485, I131 and I765 with 1225 of Fee.
