My PD is May 28th... I keep wondering when the heck I can make a request because I'm literally at 5.5 months today, not a single update. Everything still sits at "received"

It’s so frustrating. We had our AOS interview on October 29th and got RFE for a new medical even though my medical is still in date. That’s the basis of my expedite. I honestly thought it would be a lot more complicated, i spoke to a rep on ask Emma, said I wanted to expedite due to the RFE and needing to pay for a new medical. I wasn’t asked anything else, that was it, she said I’d hear from them in 5 days and I got the approval hours later. The luck we’re having, I thought it wouldn’t be granted.

I requested expedite for my EAD based on severe financial loss, I gave the reasoning that I have credit card bills and rent to pay and it's difficult to do so without a job, I heard back today and they are requesting me to fax a pending job offer. What should I do? I don't have a pending job offer? Should I not send anything and wait for it to get approved as per the normal processing or should I send my credit card bills and rent receipts? Any advice is welcome!

First off,  thank you to this forum and community. I have learned all of our AOS filing and my wife's transition here to the states from these forum. We had good news in that our AOS processing was approved and Green Card sent in 5 months. When we first applied all of the estimates for AOS approval was estimated to take close o a year, and  EAD AP approval estimates is December, 2019 or  January 2020.

 

We were very anxious and had to change some plans due to this estimate but at this point, we are just thankful that my wife received her Greencard last week, the first week of November after our End of October Interview. The overall lesson we can impart is to not make any travel plans until you get your AP aproved.

 

The process seems to have gotten faster and we are very grateful, Thanks again to all here.

Congratulations on her approval! Just a quick question, how long did you guys wait for the greencard to arrive in your mailbox after you had your interview?

We also expedited on the financial loss basis as my spouse had to go thru severe financial loss due to court case. USCIS asked to send a job offer but we told that we are requesting to expedite due to financial loss and do not have a job offer at the moment. We spoke to the tier 2 officer and he said send whatever you have.

 

Hence we faxed the copy of the cheque showing payment to the lawyer and some relevant court documents along with a brief note explaining our situation.

 

We haven't heard anything from them yet. I had called USCIS once to know what happens if we don't send any documents and the representative said that the USCIS doesn't work on expedited request unless they receive the requested documents. It 

 

So it's up to you if u wanna send some documents or jus leave it.

I don't have much evidence except for bills which is not enough to approve this expedite request so I'm not going to send any documents and I hope they continue working on my case as per regular processing times and hope this doesn't delay it further.

Update on the lost EAD. Bless the postman because he was able to retrieve the letter! I received a letter from the SSA as well with a social, weird because I didn’t request it. Also the EAD is only for work and not a combo EAD/AP Card, also weird because we applied for AP too. At this point I’m just happy I’m able to continue working! Our interview is on Tuesday in Chicago, will report back. Good luck everyone!! 😁
