Our interview is November 19th in Chicago! Still haven’t received the EAD though...requested an expedite but the status hasn’t changed since October 9th SIGH. Hopefully we hear something soon cause my current EAD expires November 29 which is cutting it close! 😬

When you get the GC, you no longer care

YMMV

Not too long ago, I was so desperate, that I requested an expedite through EMMA with no job offer in hand.  Today, I was so shocked because I was expecting an email from them asking for additional information but instead, I got an email saying a "New card is being produced".  I still can't believe my eyes. Is this a glitch? If this is true, I feel like my I-765 application was already on queue for them to adjudicate and my expedite request "poked" their dear hearts to finally gave it to me.

Just an update:

I received two approval notice in the mail today for I-765 and I-131, so this is confirmed.

Hello guys! Is there anyone here who uses Kaiser Permanente for their health insurance? If so, how did you get a documentation from Kaiser for your interview? I am trying to figure out how to get that piece of paper that has both of my husband and I's name as beneficiary on it.

Just got an update that our card has been mailed to us!  Will we get a USPS tracking number or is that just for the green card?  Thanks!!

I have Kaiser, you can download all the info by logging in on the ADP account. Also, you can go to your Kaiser Permanente account and there's a section about your coverage that shows you're under your husband's plan and since when.

I found this (Is this what you are referring to?) > Under Kaiser Permanente Account > Coverage and costs > Eligibility and benefits

Is it this? How did you print it out?

I printed the page from my iPad. But if you want something more explicit I’d contact them(kp) and inquire about it or the HR team from your partner’s company.  I don’t have an interview yet so I’ve been doing this very slow. Lol

Hello there! Is having health insurance a requirement for the AOS interview or just one of the many ways to show a bona fide marriage?

Currently,  one of the many ways

YMMV

Thank you so much for the great insights! I called kp and requested for that medical insurance document. I hope you'll have your interview schedule soon. Just hang on :)

Having health insurance is not a must or requirement - it just makes the relationship much more Bona fide looking.

I for one do not have it for me or my wife. Got my wife a flu shot. After rent and bills and other daily living expenditures there is no room for $350/month health insurance.

Omabacare also hurt people who were unemployed but forced to take insurance and that has since been changed to you can opt out of having to get it.

Also what’s the point if you pay $350/month and you still have to pay out of pocket deductible of $5,000-12,500???? It’s ridiculous.

save yourself all the trouble and just get a joint bank account and car insurance with both your names.

It's not a requirement, just helpful documentation to show if you have combined coverage.
