For those of you who received RFEs, what has been your timeline for USCIS to update your case after acknowledging they received your evidence?  Is it also contingent on the location?  We sent our RFE Response to the NBC (or whatever it’s called) in Missouri.

My wife is kind of in the timeline expected to receive her EAD/AP card but the RFE (despite sending the response back quickly and USCIS acknowledging) I feel might give USCIS more time to be lazy and delay moving our case forward.

Also, our RFE evidence was pretty simple.  Should be something easy for them to acknowledge and move our case forward.

we filed everything in late May.  RFE letter received and response sent/received in early October.

From reading USCIS service center reviews and interview feedback here on this forum, I think they say to generally wait 2 weeks for greencard to be mailed. If on the 3rd week it hasnt been sent, to contact them.

We already booked our flights but we gave it 3-4 weeks time to process and mail the approved green card. Just in case they want to be unhelpful again.

From reading around other places on the site I think that if we are approved we can ask for an I551 Stamp in her passport. Maybe we will have to go back to the office later in the week once we are oficially approved to get the stamp. This would allow her to re-enter the country without the physical green card. I will ask the officer in the interview on Oct 28. I will bring our itinerary as well showing proof we are leaving. I will report back what they say.

How long did it take for y'all to get your interview letter after being scheduled? I know I'm being impatient lol but our status changed last Friday and it's almost Friday again and no letter (although there was a holiday so there's that)

I just want to see how long it's taken more or less to arrive for others.

Has anyone called to see what date it's scheduled for? We were hoping to visit some friends in Boston around Thanksgiving but we don't want to make plans and then have to cancel them for the interview.

I saw most people got the letter within 1 week. And the actual interview is after 1 month.

Same boat here. Got interview scheduled last Friday, still waiting...

Has anyone changed their maiden name before the AOS interview? I want to take my husbands last name but i don’t know how I should proceed. I’ve heard I can bring a letter to the interview and request the immigration officer to issue my GC with my married name even though I used my maiden name for my filings. Any thoughts or experience with this?

What was your reasoning by filing using your maiden name? They will issue the card using the name you applied with. I’m not sure if you can change it at the interview. You may be able to since they ask you to confirm your name and sign.

I used my maiden name in my paperwork.   I went to dmv to get my I'd  and they told me only uscis  can change my maiden name to my married name. They will ask me when I go to the interview if I want to take my husband's last name.

I applied for AOS in my married name, all letters etc immigration have sent since have been  in married name. We did biometrics in September, on the form I had to fill out, I filled out in my married name but there was a space for your maiden name. It hasn’t seemed to be an issue about it all. We have our interview on the 29th, i’ll let you know if there is an issue with continuing to proceed with my married name
