I went in for biometrics on September 13th, a few days after that the online status showed that they sent a request for evidence. I sent all the requested evidence on Monday, the package is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, but this morning my status was updated to fingerprints received and under review. Weird that the status was updated without them receiving the requested evidence or maybe it’s just a glitch?

I have not received my EAD yet. Is this a good thing or not so good? I have mixed emotions!!!

Who has experienced the same thing? Can you share what happened?

Just means the initial review of the i485 is complete and now your file goes to your local office .  Has no effect on your other applications.  We have been sitting at this phase for a month

Hello just updating our status, we got notification today that our interview was scheduled finally after NOA1 on May 23rd.

We had separate biometrics for the EAD and the I-485.

Biometrics for the EAD was July 29 and bio for the I-485 was on September 11.

things moved pretty quickly after the second biometrics, we got notification that case was ready to be scheduled for interview exactly one week after the biometrics appointment and then one week later, today case was updated to interview scheduled. I use the case tracker app.

Still have not received any updates about the EAD since doing biometrics for it, but now that we have interview scheduled we don’t really care about that.

Now we will wait for the notice in the mail with the date!

Hi All,

Today we had our appointment @ 6:45 AM. We didn't get called back up 7:15. Our IO was really nice and laughing with us. When he sat us down he said I could answer the questions and if she didn't understand I could help translate so she could. He asked us about our address, her birth date and went straight into asking her the 10 security questions from the i485, after that he wanted to see any extra evidence I had which he skimmed through. He shuffled through the i485 again and clicked some buttons and the computer and 45 mins later he said we were approved . He was really impressed with my evidence. What stood out to him was the fact she had a drivers licence with my address on it and she was on my bank and credit card account. According to him those items are rare for k1 to AOS interviews.

Chok dee to everyone.

Congrats to you all getting interviews lined up!

I-485 (I-130, I-765, I-131, etc.) and everything else for my Brazilian wife (lives here after being an Au Pair).  USCIS confirmed receipt on May 29/30 and we got our receipts soon after.  Did the Biometrics around June 24th I believe.  Like many of you, they never changed the status from "fee received".  We're in the Virginia/Washington DC area.

Just got notice of a RFE (for I-485 specifically) being sent out and they updated the case online to reflect that (9/26).  We can't think of what this is for?  Anyone got any ideas?  People getting RFEs for stupid stuff?  We submitted TONS of relationship evidence (photos, joint bills, health insurance cards with our names on them, etc.), no problems with affidavit of support as I submitted three years of taxes and I can definitely support her financially with my salary.  Submitted all the photos.  We got her I-693 medical done but have heard that they can ask for it during the interview and send out courtesy letters instead (would we get a RFE notice now if they're sending a courtesy letter?  Seems like this has changed over the past few years from my research).

They also are only giving us about two weeks to get the RFE response back.

The only thing we can think of is maybe her Birth Certificate translation?  We had a friend do the translation based on a template online...been reading that USCIS sometimes doesn't like those and wants a "certified" copy.

The translation has to be certified with a translators signature, stamp and a statement similar to this one:

"I, the undersigned,(translator's name here), a sworn translator of the English language registered in the list of sworn translators of the Ministry of Justice under number TP/xxx/xx, hereby certify that the above text is a true, accurate and complete translation of the original (language of original copy here) document presented to me."

So we definitely have a statement like that and a signature, but no official seal/stamp.  We had a friend do it for us.

I've heard you can get the translation certified through some online websites and that is acceptable enough to USCIS?  Or do we need to go find some place that would notarize or give me some fancy gold foil stamp?

Extremely annoying to us.  Especially because I have a business trip coming up and we don't have any idea what the RFE entails.  Can I call USCIS and would they tell me over the phone what the RFE is asking for?

You should receive a letter in a few days that will tell you exactly what the RFE is about. So be patient and don't worry. It at least tells you that somebody is looking at your case and I'm sure it's something simple. Maybe it's bc or maybe something else.
