I actually did this 2 weeks ago and their response to me was that they have not yet received the case but they will follow up with USCIS -_-

Im convinced it's CSC that's the holdup.

Hi guys, I’m having a tough time thinking this through... I just did my police clearance and they insisted on using my names as it is in my passport, the thing is we used my husband’s surname and not mine for filing, so now my passport and clearance bears my maiden name. Isn’t this going to be a problem, I don’t wanna get an RFE😢

They will more than likely change it to the name used on your passport, and if they do they will do it automatically you don't have to stress over it.

Hi, I got all my documents accepted, but didn't understand why I was not getting case complete email. So I called nvc, and this guy tells me there is a mistake, I'm supposed to send my tax transcript 2018, which I did earlier, and was accepted. I'm so pissed. That's another wait game.

Hey guys, I just wanted to share with you all the exiting news that I just received.

NOA2: 4/2/19

NVC received: 4/15/19

Case Number: 5/8/19

Submitted all documents: 5/16/19

-All documents that I submitted were accepted but they asked me to submit one more document 5/16/19 @1:30pm.

-Submitted document 5/16/19 @5:30pm. (Right after work lol)

-CC: 5/17:19 @12:00pm

I am still in shock. If I hadn’t forgotten to submit 1 document I would gotten in a 0 days (just 6 hours).  I was expecting a response in 3 weeks since they had already reviewed everything once. Thank you visa journey and to all of you for your helpful posts. I couldn’t have done it without all the tips I saw in this group. I wish you all a speedy process and stay blessed

I am jealous and I am sure I am not the only one, so quick! But I am happy for you! Congrats! :D

There is literally a section on the immigration form of previous names, if the CO is competent enough they should be able to put two and two together.

It is not uncommon to not change names on passports after marriage for visa purposes.

You can send the required civil documents first before you send the affidavit of support documents. But you can't send just SOME of the civil documents and the rest of the civil documents some other time because you won't have access to that again once submitted and you will receive an RFE for missing documents.
