Similar situation here, except I know that the petition has been sent to the NVC. ... I-130 approved on the 26th of March, sent to the NVC on the 3rd of April and still no case number... I've emailed NVC and they just said that the petition has been received but they have not logged our case in their system yet...

I guess we'll just have to wait longer...

We just called today, and USCIS that they sent our approved petition to the NVC when it was approved.

No specific date, just that it was sent to the NVC, al though we never got an update on the website.

So do we get an email notification when NVC receives it or do we have to call and ask for that?

USCIS don't always update their website, you have to call NVC every 3 days to check see if they received your case.

You'll have to call NVC and ask.

You have to keep trying. Getting your call accepted the first time by NVC is rare. Most of the time you have to call more than a few times, sometimes even more than 15 tries. When I hear the automated message say "Thank you for calling the national visa center. Because of the large volume of calls we are receiving.." I hang up right away and try again until I hear a brief ringing on the phone before the automated message starts saying "Thank you for calling the national visa center. Please be advised that the hours of operation have changed..." that is my cue that my call will be in qeue to speak with an NVC representative.

Yes ..that is very right...I had to dial 46 times before I got that ring with the message...it’s very hard to reach NVC...just have to have a lot of patience..good luck...

When you get your approval (797) in the mail, call you 10 days later to NVC. Keep calling  1 or 2 times a week after until you get the date they received it. Then 3 weeks after you should get an email when your case is created.

This worked for us so far.
