Oops, forgot to ask, how long did it take before they asked her to pick up the passport?

For Pakistan, they send it to a chosen location via courier services. They said within 2 weeks but it usually takes 4-5 days

I called NVC they said they're done scheduling interview for June. Not just happy at all especially for Lagos embassy

Hello everyone I got approved for my interview this morning at the American Embassy in Accra . My interview was at 7:30 am .by 7am we were asked to queue and was ushered in after showing our interview letters at the entrance.  Whiles in there i was lucky to be called first to submit my documents to a Very Polite Ghanaian woman. She requested for my medical report,  police certificate,  passport , two passport pictures,  original birth cert, copy of my son's birth cert , a copy of his passport  ( my son got automatic citizenship here in Ghana and has an American passport ), any other documents that shows proof of relationship so I gave them a photo album , receipts from Western union,  money gram and world remit, a copy of my husband's passport with stamped pages of entry and exit from Ghana , and a few copies of whatsapp call logs and messages . After i submitted all I was asked to go sit and wait . After 10 minutes i was called to window 7 where I met an American man who will be around 40 years and he asked who filed for me I responded,  he asked when we met , when we got married , when did my husband leave Ghana,  what job he does , what is his job description,what is the name of the company my husband works. I answered all these questions confidently and he kept smiling .He said the words ' you have been approved,  congratulations ' .He didn't ask to see any financial documents. Thanks for your prayers and advise.Good luck to all who will be having their interview soon and I pray y'all get interview dates sooner .Remember to keep eye contact and speak louder .

The interviewer was pretty stern and didn't ask me anything about my husband's job or daily life. 

Questions asked were -

How did you meet? Explain

How many times has he seen you?

How did the proposal happen? Explain

Explain why you did a court marriage. I also told him that once I have the visa we will have a proper wedding in April next year. 

Asked for both of our religion. Family's reaction to that. (I'm Hindu he's Christian)

How did he get US citizenship

What do I plan to do in the US

 

and then he walked out on me twice and came back with the 221g that asked for nothing just the regular incomplete documents. He took my photo album and chat,Email and call screenshots that I took with me and said they will contact me in a week or two. Since then I haven't been able to eat or sleep. Just a few minutes back I got a call from them asking me to collect my documents and submit the passport. Hopefully, everything will go well from here on. I thank you all for all the support and I will keep you updated once I get the passport back.

So sorry to hear you endure through all of this. Hopefully you will get the visa now that they have asked your passport.

 

Take care of your health, whatever happens it is just a temporary thing, You will be joined with your husband. I can't stress this enough, make sure you get good sleep.

I just called also and they told me they are still scheduling for june maybe different embassy..🤷‍♀️

Thanks guys! Really appreciate your support and kind words!

I will travel to Kolkata to drop my passport this week. Hopefully in a week or two I'll come back with an update that I got the visa. I haven't been able to sleep at all but today I will. It's not even a week and I fell so sick I can't even imagine the amount of suffering that people who have been waiting on AP for months go through. I wish everyone the best!  🙂

oh wow.... so july it is... its 10 days to june so.... lets stay positive.
