I explained to them that my PD was 1/22/2018 and it is been a long time wait for my wife and son to come to me and would like to expedite the interview to unite the family.

Have you heard anything back yet? I submitted my request for expedite Thursday night May 9, And just recieved an email saying they are reviewing my request and will let me know the results of the review.

you can do it yourselves, most of us here dont use lawyers... unless you really have exceptional circumstances. if you need help on anything... ask... there are alot of people who can advise you promptly. all the best!!!!

@shoowlaar no worries at all! We've just been in different threads since february so only few folks know about our situation.

They have been waiting to get an interview since first week of February. They already got CC. NVC left their case out third time in a row. They don't have an interview until now. That's why they are trying to contact everyone that can help them from senators to supervisors.

They are going through a really hard time. Let's hope for the best! @Rohit07  I wish I could help you out! Good Luck! 👍

@ShreebhagyaK9 thanks for your kind words and wishes as always! Our congressman suggested we expedite the case again but this time through them - still figuring out if that is the best way forward. I know folks here mostly handle their cases without a lawyer but let me know if you know of a lawyer that has successfully gotten their clients through to the interview date at mumbai recently.

My spouse who is in India has her immigration Interview scheduled in Mumbai next month.

She is in the process of scheduling the medical exam.

We were looking into the medical examination requirements - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/interview/interview-prepare/medical-examination.html

It further took us to the below link and it mentions we have to register for Biometrics. Does she has to register for Biometrics?

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/BMB-Mumbai.html

Second question I have is where should she get her medical exam done. She lives close to Chennai. Can she get her medical exam done in Chennai?

Appreciate any help in advance.

Thanks for the info M@K12. This really helps.

Another question. After the interview, when should I be able to collect my spouse's passport directly from US consulate?

How long would it take if they mail (courier) the passport?

This info would help me plan my trip accordingly.

Usually its 3-5 working days.

When you/she gonna register for Bio-metrics on usatraveldocs.com/in

they will ask you for Collection OR Premium Home delivery option (500 Rs. on delivery). You can choose Chennai VAC for collection though.

I heard we'll get passport around 3 working days usually regardless of option you choose in most cases.

I chose Premium Home Delivery option. As Mumbai is far for me.
