Just a quick and hypothetical question:

Would you pay more for a Visa application?

The System can hire more Officers and then adjudicate Visas faster?

~Moved to General Immigration Dicussion~

Unfortunately, what you're asking about would have no effect on your AP status. AP is the embassy doing background/security checks. Why some countries take so much longer than others in part is because it is so hard for the US to verify information because that country does not maintain very good records or does no willingly want to release information. Just hiring more people would still end up in same situation.

Hell no. Immigration (and I'm talking the whole process from application through AoS, RoC and N400) is already expensive. I wouldn't not give them anymore money.

I think we give them enough money nor do I believe in a system where people essentially pay more to have it looked at faster. We're all in the same boat and no amount of money or people will make security checks go any faster. It's the entire system that needs fixing, not the amount of money we throw at them.

They used to have that 'expedite' or "premium processing" for a charge, but they got rid of that awhile back. Don't think it was that much better anyways... but that only is really for USCIS side, once it gets to the embassy, that's a different story.

I think with the added added number of applications,  seems like they could afford to hire more with our fees

example 2013    990,553

and now over 6,000,000

https://www.us-immigration.com/how-many-immigration-applications-filed-each-year/

lets round to 6,000,000 and say the difference is 5,009,447

and all applications were the minimum tourist visa amount of $160

that is an additional $801,511,520

and we all know K1 ,  CR1  AOS  and citizenship costs a lot more which makes the amount so much higher

so,  where is the money going?

not for workers

This is one of those things where throwing more money at it is not the solution. More and more money goes to USCIS every year, yet processing times get slower and slower it seems.

I must agree with Adil-Rafa and disagree with the rest. Charging more will allow for hiring more and numbers do work.

The more hands on application/Forms (from Application to Vetting to Visa in hand) … This will not work only if the prolonged

waits are purposely put. In addition, and with all due respect, unless one is suffering financial and or emotional hardships due to the long waits and the Unknown, inputs and answers can be subjective. Anyone stuck in the Ap/black hole will pay to reunite with their husband, wife or child.      Thanks

You're right, no one knows what it is like unless they are in it but, realistically and logically speaking, more money will not necessarily fix the issue as that would speed up state side procedures and not the consulates.

Respectfully, I disagree…I am writing as if this will happen tomorrow lol

but, More officers/Employees/Clerks/Hands/Eyes will certainly speed things up

as long as they are in every step of the way

from Application receipt to Visa delivery and from USCIS

to Consulate and Vetting. Speeding up the process in one area will speed it all up.

Yes, maybe, wish that was the case because right now things are sloooowwww . Have you tried contacting your congressman to inquire or hire an attorney temporarily so that they can inquire for you? Maybe they would have better luck.

Both Senator and Congressman are involved. No lawyer as I can do what they do and for free lol

Honestly, my wife and I were prepared to wait it out, but an emergency has risen :( We must be together asap.

I know that an attorney would be doing the same thing as you would be doing BUT it can't hurt to try, maybe they have better luck than you do , maybe being backed up by and spoken on your behalf by a lawyer would yield a different result. I can't imagine what you're going through, it is easy for everyone to type and advise you to wait, at the end of the day you're the one in this, all I can say is believe that all will work out as it should, this will not be forever, you'll be with her at the end of this nightmare. Stay strong.

An attorney is not able to do anything in my situation. I just wish Immediate Family Visas had priority over others.

A tourist can visit another country. An engineer can work in Canada or Australia. A student can go to England. A lottery winner can wait. They have no one they must join here. A husband, wife or child of a USC need to be with their loved ones. One can be sick and need assistance. A child needs a parent. The USC can not support two households. And the list goes on….. The system must be fixed.
