Let s say the case is still undergoing background checks. Will they reject/deny/refuse the visa if 60 days come by and the checks have not completed? or allow it to forego the necessary steps and decide then? My wife and I have an urgent situation where we must be together soon, and we would hire an attorney if we won t risk her Visa altogether. Of course, I can relocate, but my career, family and life are here. Moving would be our last option.

I think anyone in this situation realistically has to be prepared to move overseas to be with their spouse, as nothing is ever guaranteed in immigration.

We had a plan B, and that was even for NZ, which is not a country of people wanting to immigrate to the US.

You are right.; Nothing is ever guaranteed in Nothing.

If the 60 day comes and they are not done, they will request additional time... They can ask for more time in 30 day or 60 day chunks. Going through court records I could see cases where the government asked for additional time 2 or 3 times. *Every* attorney I have spoken to says you should agree to their extension request.  So I don't know what would happen if you didn't grant them the extension they asked for...

You can expect to pay anywhere between 3500-8000$. Some attorneys just do it very basic and brief (good if you have a simple case) and charge less, some attorneys spend several hour s being meticulous about details and providing evidence for everything (good if your case has an issue)...

Congratulations!

Thank you for sharing :)

Really it's just a waiting game. We filed in November and still haven't received AP. And trust me, I think we all understand the feeling of wanting to be able to live your life and plan for the future!
