Where is the light at the end of the tunnel???!

-K1 Approved Oct. 2017

-Interview at Bogota Counsel Dec.2017

- Notified at Interview we need a I-601 waiver

- Hired a lawyer received I-601 Approved April 2018

- Notified by Bogota embassy they received our I-601 Approval and to schedule a follow-up Interview

- Attended the followup Interview at the Bogota Counsler on April 29,2019

- At the Interview the counselor took my fiance passport. However,

informed us that he cant say yes or no at this time, and will make a decision maybe this week.

-After thousand of dollars; going on 3 years, doing everything requested from the entire process still sitting in a hotel with no decision.

-No criminal record, no overstay, 2 1/2 years of proof. Visiting my fiancé monthly, vacations etc!

- We have ran out of solutions and everything else!

- Why would they take my fiance passport at the Interview. However, not give us a yes or no?

They call this AP   (administrative processing)   it can take days,  weeks or months

they will do some additional security checks if this is needed or just process the visa

sorry but you need a lot of patience for this process

we applied K1 2009 and then after a denial married and finally got the visa 2015

$35,000 later

you sitll have the AOS $1225 fee to go thru here

Why would they take passport?   they can search it for trips made outside of Columbia (for 1 thing) and also this is a good sign that they intend to approve

this is not easy

this is not fast

this is not cheap

so sorry you have run into a lengthy ordeal but yes, there is a light at the end of the tunnel

Actually we are passed the administrative processing, we successfully responded to a RFE and administrative processing. Now the status still reads ready which means, we are ready for our interview.

The status was on administrative processing for months also during our response to the RFE it was at that status, then was changed to ready.

I have a question my husband I 601  was received on July 6 2018 i601a was approved here in USA . We had everything done because we knew he was going to get the waiver . I see on USCIS that says last updated on 02-01-19 does that mean they are checking his case ?

I on seen last updated dates change if there was a change in status, or a response to an inquiry. The date never changed for me when it became in an officers hands for adjudication.

Still no change in status from our interview on monday 4/29/19. The status date changed today 5/3/19 but stills shows "Ready" for the interview which took place on 4/29/19. Is there any similar cases out there this absolutely makes no sense! 26 months in!!!!

After 26 months

- Approved K1 oct, 2017

- Interview Dec 2017

- I-601 waiver approved March 2019

-Follow up Interview April 2019

(No decision at interview, but  took passport)

- May 8 online status went from "Ready" to "administrative processing"

-May 9 status changed to "issued"

This process has been draining mentally, physically and financially!

Thank everyone for the information and encouraging words!

If I can give any advice take advantage of all resources,  local congressman, lawyers, ombudsman office, constant calls and emails.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel even if currently its overwhelming.

All the best luck to everyone!

Después de 26 meses

- Aprobado K1 oct, 2017

- Entrevista diciembre 2017

Congratulation!!!
