N600 for child under 18 living abroad

I just got naturalized and I have a 17 year old daughter who is residing in the Philippines and has never been to the US. I keep seeing to just apply for a US passport which is cheaper than applying for a N600. But at every website I look at, they require a GC. Do I just apply for the N600 or can I just apply for her US passport? Thanks in advance

She needs to be in the USA, in your physical and legal custody, before she turns 18 to be eligible for citizenship.

We are in the same boat. I filed I-130 first which the immigration officer told me.

I guess we have to get them here first and get their green cards. Then ewe can apply for the N600. Atleast we don’t have to wait 5 years for them to become citizens.

Youre right about that. Next is N600. They wont have interview just for the oath tho.

My daugther is 17 file her petition so she wont have interview no more when she come here in the States.

Just note that an N-600 isn't required if they meet all the criteria noted. They could apply for a US passport directly, which acts as evidence of being a US citizen, is cheaper, is faster, and lets you travel abroad.

In my case the immigration officer advice me to file i-130 first. My daugther needs to be lawfully admitted to US after she will automatically acquiring citizenship.

When does your daughter turn 18? Have you filed an i130 yet?

She turns 18 end of this month and yes I have already filed her i130 last year with PD 10/25/2018.

Ah. She won't be getting the visa before she turns 18. She will need to naturalize on her own, not derive citizenship through a parent.
