My NOA-1 is in October'18, I've got a RFE at the beginning of April, we sent our response on the 11.04 and it was only yesterday when uscis updated our case status to "Your response to RFE was received..". So not, your case is far from the "longest" ones :)

i sent my application 11/18 and received NOA1 on 12/03/18.... so basically you are about a moth ahead of me! but like others have mentioned, every case is unique and different. I was just hoping that they would update my status to RFE received.

If they received it on the 25th...it's been only 2 business days since they got it including today... (not counting the day of receipt, not counting weekends)...you'll need to be a bit more patient...I know it's hard waiting, we've all been there one way or another! :)

it is hard waiting, lol... just hoping for the best

You need to give them a reasonable time to acknowledge receipt of your Requested Evidence, and to start working on your case again.   As was mentioned by the use of Igor's stats, your RFE added more wait time to your case. The service center adjudicator was working on your case, they found significant deficiencies, hence the you get a RFE notice. The adjudicator doesn't just sit there waiting for you to respond to the RFE, they likely go on the the next case in the pile of cases. When yours comes back, it will wait until they have completed their tasks with the current case in front of them. You had their undivided attention, and now you will have to wait until your turn comes around again, and they can then start anew on your case, hopefully with all of the required information this time. Hopefully it won't take too much longer for this phase of the process.

You have to learn to pace yourself, this is not a speed race, but rather it is a marathon.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

thank You!

It took 17 days for us, we were worried and about to call uscis, but finally we got an update on the site. So it will happen for you, it hasn't been much time yet!

May be i was not clear enough with my question, sorry everyone! What i wanted to know was why when i go on line into my case, i see a chronology of my case for example i see the date of NOA1, when i asked for my case to be expedited because my dad is on his death bed, i see the address change request! But i don't see the RFE they resquested! Not my reply to the RFE, but the resques of the RFE! Am I making any sense here ? Lol

My I-129F never updated to RFE received. Its been nearly a year and the Case Tracker still shows "RFE was mailed".

But they got it. We got married. Relax. Deep Breath. You'll be okay.

Every case is different, and every reviewer is different.   As @geowrian says, USCIS is like a large grocery store with many checkout lines....some lines are just faster than others......

very true, thank you for your reply!!! i am just a bit anxious here... I am getting tired of the traveling back and forth! just this year i have traveled about 3 times... its getting expensive and I don`t get pay for time off....

We sent information because of RFE  which USPS said was delivered on April 17th however website didn't update until April 26th saying received on April 19th. In the RFE letter it says that you should here something within 60 days from date they receive the info.

Edit: our NOA1 is September 24 😊

Well, I read from a lawyer website, that when you get an RFE is a good time to take advantage to send more evidence, specially recent evidence! But i see that there are a lot of cases here that have applied after me and they have been approved already! I feel like my case is taking longer that others!!!

On 4/29/2019 at 5:49 PM, Going through said:

They may or may not look at any additional evidence you sent----the RFE letter generally is explicit in instructing the applicant to send only what is requested and nothing more.

Immigration is not a race---don't base every step of your journey on the speed of others---it will just drive you crazy in the end.  You'll get to the finish line eventually, though.

I had an RFE for the I-129F and it took 46 days from the day I sent it to the day they sent NOA2. It can take 60 days before they allow you to inquire.

If you poke around here long enough you'll see most attorneys don't know very much and advise clients incorrectly by mistake. Probably wasn't any harm in sending it, but you'll probably want to be cautious in the future.

You are extremely lucky that they didn't send you an outright denial for missing required documents..........

A recent VJ member had their case denied for not sending the intent letter with the original package----I agree, you were very lucky to have just gotten an RFE.

If you look at your timeline, VisaJourney helps provide information based on the collective data everyone is submitting into their system. Your timeline now states:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between April 12, 2019 and April 22, 2019* (RFEs at the California Service Center typically add an extra 30 days, which has been added to the estimated processing time).

Hope you hear something sooner than 30 days though!

Asking for a letter of intent is fairly common with RFEs, even if you already provided one. It doesn't mean something was wrong with the first one or anything like that...it's just been a while. So they sometimes ask for it again in conjunction with another cause for RFE (the divorce decree in your case).

It's only been a couple days. Try to be patient. At least they started reviewing your packet. If that's the only issue and the background checks come back quickly, you'll probably hear back fairly soon.

Hello everyone!!! so today I called USCIS and asked to be transferred to a tier 2... i was worried that the additional evidence i had submitted in the RFE reply, would harm my process or that it would upset the USCIS officers and that would be a negative against my case... well i have great news!!! the Tier 2 officer that took my call, told me not to worry at all, that it was a great move i made, because that actually shows that I am making a great effort to proof that my relationship is real and trustworthy. I expressed to her how worried i was, because i had read a lot of articles saying that sending extra evidence with an RFE reply would not help at all or it would have a negative impact on the adjudication of my case. She was so nice and told me, no, that is wrong information, the more evidence you send the easier you make it for the USCIS officer to approve your case, so be at ease that your case looks good, there are no negative remarks and expect an answer before June!!! i was sooooo relieved and happy!!! all these days i was biting my nails, and had a lot of anxiety, thinking that i had messed up big time!!! but i did not.... wooohooooooo

Wow I'm so happy to hear this because I was just thinking about sending more evidence with the RFE I got aka side loading. My RFE was only for a divorce decree but I'm sending in more screen shots of my phone logs and msgs to show a continued ongoing relationship and contact since several months have passed. I was worried if it was a good thing to do or not. Your post was reassuring. Specially if that's what you heard straight from USCIS. That's whos opinion really counts here. Even though I always appreciate everyones input and opinions. Thanks and I wish you the best. Also very sorry to hear about your father being ill.
