So, I applied for a I129F to bring my fiance from Colombia to USA! My application was received and my NOA1 was on December 3, 2018. On April 10th 2019 I received a RFE requesting to submit statement of intent from beneficiary and my oficial divorce decree! I submitted everything they asked for and i also sent a intent letter from my behalf just incase! i also added more evidence like pictures and plane tickets from this year! They received my RFE reply on the 25th of this month! I go on line and I don’t see anything updated on my process! How long does it take? And did i do good submit more actual evidence?

I would allow at least a couple weeks........usually, it better to give them only what they ask for, but it's probably OK.......anyway, I would just try to be patient....good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

If they received it on the 25th...it's been only 2 business days since they got it including today... (not counting the day of receipt, not counting weekends)...you'll need to be a bit more patient...I know it's hard waiting, we've all been there one way or another! :)

Well, I read from a lawyer website, that when you get an RFE is a good time to take advantage to send more evidence, specially recent evidence! But i see that there are a lot of cases here that have applied after me and they have been approved already! I feel like my case is taking longer that others!!!

They may or may not look at any additional evidence you sent----the RFE letter generally is explicit in instructing the applicant to send only what is requested and nothing more.

Immigration is not a race---don't base every step of your journey on the speed of others---it will just drive you crazy in the end.  You'll get to the finish line eventually, though.

Every case is different, and every reviewer is different.   As @geowrian says, USCIS is like a large grocery store with many checkout lines....some lines are just faster than others......

I had an RFE for the I-129F and it took 46 days from the day I sent it to the day they sent NOA2. It can take 60 days before they allow you to inquire.

If you poke around here long enough you'll see most attorneys don't know very much and advise clients incorrectly by mistake. Probably wasn't any harm in sending it, but you'll probably want to be cautious in the future.

You are extremely lucky that they didn't send you an outright denial for missing required documents..........

A recent VJ member had their case denied for not sending the intent letter with the original package----I agree, you were very lucky to have just gotten an RFE.

If you look at your timeline, VisaJourney helps provide information based on the collective data everyone is submitting into their system. Your timeline now states:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between April 12, 2019 and April 22, 2019* (RFEs at the California Service Center typically add an extra 30 days, which has been added to the estimated processing time).

Hope you hear something sooner than 30 days though!

Asking for a letter of intent is fairly common with RFEs, even if you already provided one. It doesn't mean something was wrong with the first one or anything like that...it's just been a while. So they sometimes ask for it again in conjunction with another cause for RFE (the divorce decree in your case).

It's only been a couple days. Try to be patient. At least they started reviewing your packet. If that's the only issue and the background checks come back quickly, you'll probably hear back fairly soon.

You need to give them a reasonable time to acknowledge receipt of your Requested Evidence, and to start working on your case again.   As was mentioned by the use of Igor's stats, your RFE added more wait time to your case. The service center adjudicator was working on your case, they found significant deficiencies, hence the you get a RFE notice. The adjudicator doesn't just sit there waiting for you to respond to the RFE, they likely go on the the next case in the pile of cases. When yours comes back, it will wait until they have completed their tasks with the current case in front of them. You had their undivided attention, and now you will have to wait until your turn comes around again, and they can then start anew on your case, hopefully with all of the required information this time. Hopefully it won't take too much longer for this phase of the process.

You have to learn to pace yourself, this is not a speed race, but rather it is a marathon.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

May be i was not clear enough with my question, sorry everyone! What i wanted to know was why when i go on line into my case, i see a chronology of my case for example i see the date of NOA1, when i asked for my case to be expedited because my dad is on his death bed, i see the address change request! But i don't see the RFE they resquested! Not my reply to the RFE, but the resques of the RFE! Am I making any sense here ? Lol

My NOA-1 is in October'18, I've got a RFE at the beginning of April, we sent our response on the 11.04 and it was only yesterday when uscis updated our case status to "Your response to RFE was received..". So not, your case is far from the "longest" ones :)
