Stepmother approved petition for stepson that has not met yet

Hello VJs! 

 

I am helping my Aunt with the petition of her stepchildren in the Philippines. She has not met them in person yet. Petitions were approved and ready to be processed now at the Manila Embassy. 

 

My question is, do they need to meet each other in person before the interview? Will this cause a denial if they have not met in person? What kinds of questions are usually asked at the embassy?
