AOS INTERVIEW CHECKLIST

Timeline

Hi everyone finally after 15 months of waiting i have my interview in a couple of days. These is the documents that i will bring with me: 

  • W2/1040/TAX TRANCRIPTS 2016/2017/2018 (even if 2016 and 2017 are already submitted with initial package)
  • PAYSTUBS
  • EMPLOYMENT LETTER
  • JOINT DOCUMENTS (LEASE, HEALTH INS, CAR INS, CREDIT CARD, BANK, LIGHT BILLS)
  • NEW MEDICAL 
  • PHOTOS 
  • ORIGINAL AND COPIES OF BIRTH CERT, MARRIAGE AND PASSPORTS AND COMBO CARD 
  • ORIGINAL OF ALL USCIS RECEIPTS

Can anyone telling me if i am missing something? I want to say that my lawyer prepared all the docs for me in a big envelope and wrote a cover letter with an invitation to approve us.

Sounds good to me. You may want to consider including a Medical and Durable POA, along with a living will. You may also want to bring copies of your joint documents, if they are originals, in case the IO wants to retain for your file.

 

I'm curious, because I've never seen one before, what does the letter your attorney prepared inviting USCIS to approve you say?

2021-04-01 Package Received Texas Service Center

2021-04-21 I-797C Notice Date

2021-04-26 Notice Received via USPS

2021-05-04 Biometrics were reused

2021-11-16 New card is being produced

what is this?  Medical and Durable POA, along with a living will ?

POA = Power of Attorney

They are legal documents which state your end of life wishes, medical care you wish to receive, etc. They may be called different names in Florida. They are also called advanced directives, healtcare power of attorney, etc.

 

Basically, in the documents you appoint your spouse to make decisions on your behalf should you become incapacitated and unable to make your own medical or financial decisions. I've read that this can be strong evidence since you are basically trusting your spouse with your life.
