Yeah, the only problem with bank checks if you forgot to monitor your balance on your checking and you don't have enough funds, then it will be overdraft. So get overdraft protection. :)

Exactly and need enough funds when USCIS cashes it. Considering that I have lots of automatic bill payments too... There is no way to track a money order though correct?

Yeah, I don't think you can. The only way that you could monitor and contest is the mail tracking number, that way you'll know for sure that it was delivered, then pray that USCIS will email you or mail you a notification(NOA). :) If my time comes I'll still use money order but that's just me.

Also, anywhere that it asks for my wife's name should she put her new name or considering that her new last name is not recognized by any government, ID, or institution yet should she just stick to her maiden name on all AOS forms?

On form I-765 Part 2 Item #27, what is the right eligibility category for my wife?

From the instructions:

Quote

Adjustment of Status Categories

  1. Adjustment Applicant under Section 245--(c)(9). File Form I-765 together with Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, or if filing separately, submit a copy of your I-485 receipt notice or other evidence that your Form I-485 is pending.

So the right eligibility category is (c)(9).

Thank you! Now I am trying my best to find it clearly in the instructions on the I-131 for part 7. I am wondering what we need to attach.

I have read that since we are applying this with AOS they will not require anything attached. Is that true?

We didn't attach anything, and I think that's okay.

The "thing" to attach is the I-797 for the I-485 filing, but if you are filing concurrently then that document isn't available.

All I did was notate on my cover that the filing was concurrent and incorporated herein.

YMMV

We are filing them all at once.

Could I get a couple examples of cover pages please.

Cover page is not that hard.  Just like a Table of Contents of what your application package contains.

Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjustment Status & supporting documents.

  • Form I-485, signed and dated

  • Two passport style photographs of the applicant

  • Photocopy of ID page of applicant’s passport

  • Photo copy of marriage certificate

  • Copy of electronic I-94 form for most recent entry of the applicant

  • Photocopy of the applicant’s foreign birth certificate

  • Photocopy of Passport page containing Visa and Entry stamp

  • Photocopy of DS-3025 Vaccination Worksheet

  • Form I-864, Affidavit of Support from Sponsor and following supporting documents

    • Copy of latest IRS tax transcripts for tax years 2018, 2017 and 2016

    • Proof of citizenship (previously submitted with I-129F)

Form I-131, Application for Travel Document, including the following supporting documents

  • Form I-131, signed and dated

  • Two passport style photographs of applicant

  • Copy of electronic I-94 form for most recent entry of the applicant

  • Photocopy of Passport ID page

  • Proof of I-485 filing (filed concurrently with this application)

YMMV

I am getting ready to make a cover letter and looking through the checklist to make sure we have everything and I was wondering about this part. #10 on the VJ checklist. Do you really have to do this? Or just provide a copy of the vaccination sheet? @payxibka

I-693 vaccination transcription is required to be completed by seeing a Civil Surgeon to have certain portions of the I-693 completed and have the Civil Surgeon certify the form

If your Ds 3025 is marked complete on the bottom left of the form then that is all you need to do
