MAY 2019 K-1 NOA2 ----> NVC

Called NVC midday today and got our case number within minutes (using the second phone number in the PDF). NOA2 is May 29 and according to the Julian calendar, case number was assigned June 20. We did not receive any kind of email as others have mentioned. Considering they assigned it almost two weeks ago this leads me to believe they screwed up the petitioner's email address when entering it into the system...?

Greebaum. my status was updated to ready but I haven't received any P3 from Casablanca embassy. I really don't know what to do next so I'll appreciate any help from you.

Thanks.

Once you get a case number, you can fill out the DS 160 online. Print the confirmation page for this once completed.

When you have your case number, enter it here https://ceac.state.g...ker/status.aspx and it will tell you one of three things,  at NVC, In Transit, or Ready. Once your case shows "Ready" then you email the consulate and request an interview. Include your name, fiancés name, case number and that you're looking to schedule a K1 Fiance Visa interview. I heard they'll email you back within 2 weeks or so but some have heard back the same day that they sent the email.

When they email you back they'll tell you when your appointment is. Attached will be packet 3. Includes a list of doctors to choose from for the medical , your rights and your appointment letter. At that point - just get your papers together. Usually your fiancé gets the police records in a week. Court records same day. Celabecy letter same day. And birth cert in the same day. Once you have them, then dropped them off to be translated. Picked them up in a week. Already you're at 2 weeks for gathering the fiancés paperwork. On top of that make sure your fiancé sends you their documents (I-134, proof of relationship, taxes, pay stubs, letter from employer, updated letter of intent..).

You can not schedule dr appointment till you receive notice from embassy it is taking about 3 months of waiting to be able to schedule any appointments. Do not do the medical too soon as the travel time must be completed within 6 months from date of that medical. You will also need to complete 2 criminal reports (one of which expires in 90 days)  Obtain a Fiche Anthropometrique and a Casier Judiciaire from the Central Police station at their place of residence.

All documents submitted in support of an application or petition must include complete translation into English. In addition, there must be a certification from the translator indicating that the translation is complete and accurate and attesting to his or her competence as a translator. See8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) .

Thank you so much Greenbaum! You are really a savior on this website. I've been following your tips since day 1 in the process and all your tips were correct from gathering the right documents to the case tracking, even the Julian calendar was 100% accurate. You made the process for us more simple and clear than it actually is. Thank you!!!!

I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this scenario on the DS-160. We answered all of the questions prompted to complete the form. But when we get to the "Review" page, it has blank spots that ask if additional phone numbers/emails have been used within the past 5 years. ...When we go back to edit, we aren't allowed to add anything (the "add additional" button is grayed out). Should we just ignore these blanks spaces on the Review page?  ...also, we can't record more than 2 past employers in the DS-160 -he had more than 2 in the past 5 years. I hope the consulate won't see it as an issue, we can't control that the fields are staying blank.

DS160 REVIEW.jpg

I'm encountering this same exact problem. All these areas are left blank on the "review" page but there's no option to fill anything out in the application. I think we may have started the application before they made these updates and that is why we're missing them? Do you think we should begin a new application and this would solve the problem? Also, I have a question regarding any social media identifiers that have been changed. For example, would I have to provide my OLD Twitter identifier if I changed it but it still belongs to the same account?

Your appreciation is my motivation.  Thank you.

When you arrive in the states and you take a moment to reflec I believe that you'll realize that this entire process is easy and not to be filled with angst. Keep your expectations low, give them what they want and trust the process.  Thats the skinny on how you get through this.

Best of luck on the continuation of your journey.

No -I started last Saturday. Do you think we should begin a new application and this would solve the problem? Been there, done that, same outcome. Also, I have a question regarding any social media identifiers that have been changed. For example, would I have to provide my OLD Twitter identifier if I changed it but it still belongs to the same account? I don't use Twitter, but it's same account, wouldn't it retain all of the posting history that the officials would consider(?).

I think that the online DS-160 "customizes" itself to adapt based on the answers to its questions. Wild guess: IF my fiance visited a Travel Ban Country in his selections of areas visited, I BET the form would have prompted him to return and fill in those "5 year" questions. For everyone else, the fields remain grayed out and inaccessible.

I’m not sure if that’s working so well since I’ve stated on the form that I visited a travel ban country in the last 5 years and it did not prompt me to answer those questions.

That is correct.  The DS-160 can be different for each question.  Your answer may trigger a new question and or a new question that the embassy is looking for.

So nothing to be worried about if it shows the question on the summary page and there is no response? It makes it seem like I didn’t respond to the question even though I wasn’t asked.

You can't answer a question that was never presented to you. When a form is designed it has certain avenues it takes. If at the end they want a summary page they will design it into the form. This is the case for the DS-160. Your overthinking this form.

they send you the mail when they send your file to the embassy, the next shipment is on July 9, hopefully your case will go to the embassy

if I remember right the cutoff for last shipment was June 19th so you just missed it. I'm in the same shoes got NVC case ID assigned on June 21st, so just missed the last shipment.

we should be shipping out next Tuesday, check online your case status on Wednesday , July 10th and it should update to "in transit"

So just ran into something (hopefully not a big deal) on the I-129F I put my fiances middle name along with her last name in the last name block. It's a family name and I thought it was both of her last names but its listed on her passport as her middle.. Our case got approved and we are waiting for our case to ship to Manila. Going forward with the rest of the paperwork is what I'm worried about now. We are going to fill out any paperwork with what's listed on her passport. Will this cause  an issue?? Any advice is appreciated as as always!

No issue. Use the passport name which in reality should be the same as the BC unless she is divorced.
