TIA

You discussed this in your subforum, so im scratching my head wondering why your'e here asking others from other embassies about your requirements for SA. Your setting yourself up to fail!! JMHO

Your P3 requests the following: "I-134 document accompanied by the most current tax returns from the petitioner," The answer is tax transcripts are required just as you were enlightened in your subforum. The individual who shared their experience was issued a 221(g) to provide transcripts that W2 was not an item that was acceptable by the interviewing CO.

You can't go wrong with the following:

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form (https://www.uscis.gov/i-134) K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

Which phone number are you calling? The pdf provided 2 phone numbers. One is for “Immigrant Visa”, the other is for “Non-Immigrant Visa”. The first time I called the Immigrant Visa phone number I got the “high volume busy” recording. So I called the “NON-IMMIGRANT VISA” number and got a person in less than 15 minutes. In the several times that I called this number, no matter what time of day, I never waited longer than 30-35 minutes...

Thank you all for the feedback!! We received our case number today. It was processed Monday.

Good Evening Everyone!

Our NOA2 =5/29/19

I'm reading the updates here... wondering if I'm calling NVC at the wrong times?! I call early morning around 9:30am-11am. Then, noon - 3pm. Lastly at 8:30pm. The only interaction I have is with the recorded messaging system explaining how high the call volume is. Once or twice I got a busy tone but that's about it. Any advice or suggestions?

Good afternoon!

I tried calling the NVC around 6:30-7pm EST and I always get a response. Typically, the wait time can be around 40 minutes or less.

Hope this helps!

at the GSS registration stage after paying the visa fee, how long does it take until the receipt number is recognized in the system and we can finish the application?

we paid 24 hours ago and I still get the "invalid receipt number" error message

W2 is not the same as a tax transcript.

In case of an individual who has multiple source of income, let's say a small business owner with income who also works part-time at a company and receives a W2 wage and also has rental properties which he/she rents out and gets rental income....all this will be on a tax transcript, but only the employer related income will be on a W2.

for example:

business made 1 million dollar loss

rental properties are under water, making 200,000 loss for the year

employment income 100,000

this person will be at a 1.1 million negative income, heading toward bankruptcy, while the W2 only would give a picture that he is able to maintain immigrants sponsored.

I hope this helps to explain why a W2 will not be accepted and the embassy will always insist on the tax transcript.

Posting to keep track of the thread - our NOA2 was 5/24/19 but I haven't gotten anything in the mail from NVC. Just now updated the email address in their system (Link from the PDF).

Does anyone know if, let's say the case number was assigned before they had my email, is there any way to get the case number other than calling or waiting on the snail mail notification?

Thanks all.

i think calling NVC is your best bet if you have not received the information through your email.

I registered my email in time, still they didn't email me anything while I already obtained case ID through the phone.

I apologize in advance coz this might be a dumb question.

(beneficiary here)

I'm trying to schedule an interview on the site and I'm trying to look for a field where I can edit my DS160 form reference #. Coz when I tried to schedule, the confirmation prefilled it with my old ds160. I panicked. Lol halppp

Same here.

Try again :) There is roughly a 24-hour window needed for the systems to sync. Mine showed nothing 8 hours ago. Now I have all of the updated tracking info. We signed up for email/text notifications just so we'll have an idea of when to start expecting our status to be change to ready.

And the tax transcript proves that you actually filed the taxes and the IRS accepted them. 1040 Forms don't prove what you filed. Tax transcripts are a receipt from the government.

Any easy advice on getting this to work? I'm in Africa with limited internet access and couldn't track it with info from the Google doc?

Thanks
