It requires an Invoice ID which isn’t the WAC number (I tried).

Help! :)

Make sure in the drop down menu you select immigrant visa!

Hmmm. It doesn’t give that option. It asks if I’m the petitioner, attorney, etc. Am I supposed to leave off the letters for the invoice number?

Thank you so much! Unfortunately I can’t get to this page without the invoice ID. I’ll try to call back and get a Tier 2 agent or just wait for my fiancé to get the instruction letter.

Everybody gets this page. It's the first page when you land at ceac.state.gov. You are doing something wrong. Do me a favor in your browser type in the address ceac.state.gov. Screen shoot the page and post it here. I'd like to see what you are bumping into.

Oh wow 😮 So I cleared my cache and this address worked to check the status. It won’t let me complete step one to pick an agent or step 2 to pay fees without the invoice ID.

no more guessing on how long we have to wait before NVC decides to receive in the USCIS apps in their system.

I found this info at an unexpected website, which is updating it daily!

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved/begin-nat-visa-center.html

scroll down and towards the end of the page...boom! "as of June 17th NVC receives in cases with USCIS NOA2 of May 23rd"

if I enter here the WAC number under the "immigrant visa case number", do I get an update if the case was received in from USCIS? (prior to assigning an NVC case number) ?

This website will only work with your case number to follow the status after case number assignment. It does nothing with a WAC#.

Called NVC yesterday. Our  NOA2 is May 28th and it's been 3 weeks now. After waiting for 30 minutes on the line, they said they haven't recieved our petition yet and they would probably recieve it sometime in the next 3 weeks. Just wanted to share this in case people with similar NOA2 dates were wondering. Will probably call again in 2 weeks.

Thanks for the help. I started to feel that I was steering them wrong but using my advice i was able to get to the status page without any problems.  For the life of me couldn't understand how they were landing on a page that asked for the id when it didn't for me and for others.
