Our case was received at NVC on 6/14. I am not sure that it will make the 6/25 shipment.

Has anyone seen the shipment dates for July?

No but you can look. It's every other week on Tuesday and the next shipment is June 25. Report back with your answer so we can share with the group.

Can you do anything with only the case ID and not the invoice ID? Do I have to just wait for the letter? I was told they won’t give out the invoice ID on the phone due to security reasons.

I called the NVC customer service today and they said they received it today in their building but it’s not yet on their system.

She said it might take up to 8 weeks to assign the case number.

When should I call back to check if the case number is assigned?

Is their any chance it will be included in the 25June shipment?

Hoping someone could answer. Thanks

Gracias

Call again on friday

Shipment dates for July are July 9th and July 23rd.  Getting your case number does not necessarily mean that you will make the next shipment date hoping and waiting still is the name of the game even at NVC. Good news is cases do get shipped out. Just make sure you update your email address and that of your beneficiary using the NVC inquiry form (even if there was no change in your addresses). At that time you can request that NVC send you an email once your case arrives at NVC, case number is assigned and or your case has shipped out to your embassy. The email thing does not always work so your mileage may vary.

I read not to long ago, and it was in this thread, where someone  who has lots of experience stated that if your case is assigned a case number by the Wednesday before the Tuesday ship date there is a strong possibility you'll be in that shipment. So you would need to be assigned your case number by this Wednesday.  If they only received your case file today i doubt you'll be on June 25ths shipment.

Your mileage can vary.

NVC gives case numbers out over the phone all the time as long as you can verify that you are the person authorized to receive the information then there is no problems NVC giving you the information over the phone. It's the case number you want the invoice number they will give you too if you ask, but I have yet to figure out what value it has.

Case ID? You mean case number, right? Thae case number is what you need to continue forward.

What letter? The letter with your case number? No that's the reason everyone is calling NVC every 10 minutes. The case number and receipt  number is used to complete the DS-160.

The invoice number is the WAC#.

I’m really confused.  Yes I meant the case number which I received on the phone today but was told they cannot give me the invoice ID because of security reasons. I need both the invoice ID and the case number in order to complete the first step in the process of assigning an agent and then paying the fees. What am I missing?

The invoice number that NVC assigns I am not sure what it is for maybe an internal thing, but you do not need it to continue on. The only other case number like @Greenbaum told you about is the WAC case number you got way back when you got your NOA1 from USCIS.

Thank you both! I’ll try to proceed with this information. Appreciate the help!

Call again and speak to an agent or ask for a tier 2 as they are little more helpful.  Once you complete your next steps please confirm that you indeed got the number you needed and what did it look like. Even hiw you used it. Screen shots would be great to see. Some us old salty's need to relearn a thing or two. Thanks
