Greetings! What a delightful K-1 journey! How do I find the average time that the NVC is taking to assign a case number? When I called today, they said it can take up to 8 weeks. I have followed similar timelines to mine and others are receiving them the same day or within a couple of days. I was wondering if maybe people are just not accurately updating their timelines. Any information is greatly appreciated!

My NOA2 is May 22nd. My case still hasn't arrived at NVC after 24 days. It seems that many parts of this process can vary wildly for all of us so no need to fret unless you're out of that 8 week window!

I have a question about the DS-160 form. I started it this morning. I've been meaning to work on it again today, but every time I try to retrieve the application and fill in the application ID, surname, year of birth and security question it says "surname does not match" and "year of birth does not match" (and I know I'm filling in the correct information). Has anyone else had this problem, and what should I do? I've tried it on Firefox and Chrome, and have the same issues on both browsers.

I believe it only says first 5 letters of the surname.

It does, but it wasn't working. I started a new application and everything is working now.

My case arrived at the london embassy yesterday as seen on the dhl tracker but my case hasnt changed to ready on the ceac website. Can i schedule my medical and interview or should i wait until it says ready?

I'm in the exact same position so would be interested to know too! And wondered how long until the case tracker status changes to 'ready' after the DHL carton arrives.

No one can say with any certainty.  Each embassy is different. Some embassies take hours others 2 weeks to 3 months.

What does your P3 letter say? What do others advise from your subforum group? Every embassy is different.  Asking here with ppl from other countries may not garner the response your looking for.

To add a data point to Greenbaum's statement. My case still has yet to arrive at the embassy (in the country, but has not been delivered yet), but the case tracker status has changed to "ready" already.

That's because they receive a electronic version before the paper file which causes it to go to "ready" status.
