Case number assignment must be assigned before the Wednesday before the next shipping date. That is the history of the past 9 months.

That's good to know. So I guess that means those of us who didn't have a case number as of 6/5 will NOT see our files shipped earlier than 6/25.

Lucky or unlucky depends on how you view it.  Mine was assigned 6-6-2019, according to Greenbaums post looks like I missed the cut off for getting it mailed out on 6-11-19 by 1 day.

But either way I have a case number so that is a positive.

Yeah the movement of the files is relative. My NOA2 is also 5/13, received by NVC on 6/5, but still no Case Number assigned. ...I just want to know the Case Number, first 3 letters should confirm that our petition is headed to the correct embassy.

Hi all - maybe a bit of hope for people who are waiting to hear from NVC

We got our NOA2 on 14 May, and today (after following the very helpful tips at the start of ths thread) I got the following email:

Dear Sir/Madam:

We recently received your visa petition. We will send NVC processing instructions within 8 weeks. Please resubmit your inquiry if you have not received any information after 8 weeks.

I'm going to try to call today to see if they have assigned a case number.

Good luck all.

The information in red is for CR-1 applicants. You received it because your file (it's tagged that way in the system) is being treated as a "immigrant" status but it is really "non-immigrate with intent to immigrate". So it's ok to ignore it because a K-1 does not submit to NVC but to an embassy.

This might be a really stupid question, but I have an obscene amount of documents, probably close to 150 papers (most of it is supporting evidence for the i-134), how are you guys organizing it all to bring to the interview? I was thinking of putting it all in a binder?

The Sweden P3 letter states the following:

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Evidence, which will show that you and your children, if any, are not to become public charges in the United States. If you have no assets, you may find a financial sponsor in the U.S. who completes form I-134, Affidavit of Support on your behalf. The sponsor should also provide a copy of the most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (1040) and proof of current U.S. income or assets. Form I-134 can be obtained from Citizenship and Immigration Services’ webpage www.uscis.gov

This is a good yardstick of information to follow as it pretty much states the requirements for most embassies.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form (https://www.uscis.gov/i-134) K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

You don't need 150 pages. You just bring what is asked for on the P3. Your in front of the CO for 5-10 min tops. Even if the CO is a speed reader they could get through your document and still render a good interview. Do what do will do.

First link Embassy instructions and second is medical instructions.

Thank you - I was a bit confused about the processing instructions.

I spoke to someone at NVC  today and they said to call back next week when they should have assigned us a case number. I'm hoping our file will be sent out to the London embassy on the 25th - or would that be too early do you think?

The timeline for receiving your case number is this. From USCIS to NVC about 4 weeks. NVC is issuing case number in about 2 weeks after receipt from USICS. Then your file is shipped to your embassy based on the current scheduling. June 11 or 25 are the shipment dates for this month. Case number assignment must be assigned before the Wednesday before the next shipping date. That is the history of the past 9 months.

So you are still too early.

Greenbaum,

In regards to the case number must be assigned before the Wednesday.  So when I called they rep stated it was assigned 6-6-19 however when I break down my case number to determine when it was assigned via converting Julian date I can see it was assigned 6-4-19.  Which dates do you think or know that they use for the cutoff on shipping out the files?

Thank you

6/4 will be your date and therefore it is my "guess" that you should be on the shipment next week. Remember, your mileage may vary but I think you will be in the air on that date. Thanks for using my tips. ;)
