This thread was created for those who are waiting from their NOA2 K-1 to their case assignment from NVC.

These are items that everyone asks for, so I thought I just post a PDF of them here for you to refer to when it's necessary.

Can my fiancé in Peru go ahead and schedule his medical exam and obtain police records PRIOR to receiving the case ID from NVC? I can’t seem to find an answer to this question.

Yay! just got my NOA2 in the mail today. I was worried since I can't see it on Case Status Online (still) but it showed up on my mailbox.

I called the NVC and got my Case# and Inv ID #. They said I need to wait for the email notification.

Btw, I also received email for AskNVC responding to my initial email about updating my email address.

I went to ceac.state.gov and checked my status.  I then went to travel.state.gov to follow instructions and first step was choose an agent.  When I tried that it said I needed an invoice number along with the case number.  Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

I can't say if you're doing it wrong as I'm having you take the time to teach me what the invoice number is used for. Now, were you successful in booking your interview?

I don't have a Packet 3 letter that has all the requirements for your upcoming interview but what I have I will share below. Once you get in touch with your Embassy and they send you the P3 letter with all the requirements if would be so kind and share a copy with me then I can use it to help others in the future. Thanks.

Thanks so much! Happy to share the packet once we receive it. We did find out that the physical letter is required for the Dr appt. I’ll work on the financial support form in the interim.

I called NVC and received my invoice # since I stupidly forgot to ask the first time I called.  Filled out the DS-160 application today so hopefully this gets the process moving again.

Don't worry you'll be alright!

I knew that the Invoice Number is just for the DS-260 applicants but not for the DS-160. And the option to  choose an agent is just for Immigrant Visas Applicants. Even in the Department of State web page is confirmed that. Take a look here: https://travel.state.gov/cntent/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/forms/online-immigrant-visa-forms.html

So far, the K visa is an non-immigrant visa and applicants have to get their Case Number from the NVC after the I-129F Approval and complete the DS-160 form online and later pay the fees (either at the Embassy/Consulate or when your schedule a interview in the Official U.S. Department of State Visa Appointment Service online)

So, @PTRF triple check the options you're following to choose and do the right ones.

Good Luck!!

I submitted the DS-160.  I could have sworn on the form it asked for an invoice number on one of the steps.  I could be wrong. 🤷‍♀️
