Has the pace of the NVC slowed down over the past couple of weeks? The majority of the timelines from April have about a 30 day time period from when they get their NOA2 and when the case LEAVES the NVC. ...I know the mileage varies. ...Not sure if there is a growing backlog or if this is the seasonal peak starting where the volume of the caseload starts getting heavier. ...My NOA2 was 5/13. I estimated that we would make the 6/11 shipment from the NVC, but my case hasn't even arrived. Hopefully it's reasonable to expect that we could be on track for the 6/25 shipment to the consulate.

3 weeks and nothing yet.

The pace is 30 days from NOA2 to NVC. 2-3 weeks before case assignment then it up to where yor case falls in the shipping cycle. Then about 1-2 weeks for your case to be set to ready at the embassy.

So each of you are way to early.

I think August is worst case scenario. The point is don't set expectations too soon, if things come earlier consider it a pleasant surprise. That's easier said than done when we have schedules that we find ourselves attached to.

I got a bit confused a minute ago...I have a K1 beneficiary with 2 children (5 year old twins) who derive the visa through the primary beneficiary.

Will I need to pay 1x $265 as NVC fee, or 3x $265 ?

thank you

I'm answering my own question and sharing it with others to know:

He or she will file Form DS-160, which includes a nonimmigrant visa application processing fee of $265. Each person that wants to travel to the U.S. on the K visa will need to a submit an application and pay this fee. For example, a fiancé that has two minor children that will accompany as K-2 visa holders will a total visa cost of $795 (3 x $265).

From your embassy instructions it states the following. It's asking for legible photocopies so i would say that you are fine.

Note: The consular officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine. Documents in foreign languages, other than the language of the country in which the application takes place, should be translated. Applicants should take to the visa interview clear, legible photocopies of civil documents and translations, such as birth and divorce certificates. Original documents and translations will be returned.

Concerning I-134 documents the instructions say the following. I don't think there would be a problem emailing documents to print on the beneficiary side for the interview.

    • Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, may be requested)

Thank you so much that was very helpfull

The DS-160 stands on its own. The interview fee has nothing to do with the DS-160 for many of the embassies.  Some embassies are using a new process where you must complete the DS-160 and use the number thats generated after submittal to schedule the interview. You will continue to supply the DS-160 confirmation barcode at the interview.

I heard that DS-160 is valid just one month that's why I'm asking about. The topic about the fees is clear at all.

DS-160 has no expiration. When you "hear" something challenge the individual who's making the claim to produce the link so you can follow up with your own take on what is said. Most times where I can i will provide a link.

Thank you @Greenbaum... and when I said 'I heard' I said literately because an acquaintance told me that. That's the reason why I couldn't provide a link and just ask about it to the forum
