I'd like to know where that number comes from... and what it includes.  Nothing I read shows anything close to 6MM visa's going through the same system we use for K/CR visas.

https://www.us-immigration.com/how-many-immigration-applications-filed-each-year/

Each year, the USCIS receives and processes about 6 million immigration applications from individuals and employers.

You can also check the USCIS quarterly report

Link 1:  from 2013, that was trending downwards, and was less than 1 million.  Not the 6 million cited.

Link 2: broken.

According to this  https://www.dhs.gov/immigration-statistics/yearbook/2017/table25

There were a total of 181,000,000 non-immigrant admissions (which includes K1).  I doubt that USCIS touches all of them.  Most are done overseas in consulates.

It said here’s your receipt number the original to follow in the mail

Yes that is your NOA1. Hold on to it as you may need your WAC# (receipt number) later on in the process.

Also, many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

All you gave was a web site that's out of date and doesn't source that number.   So if I make a web site and post eleventy-billion that's the 'new' number?

Ok   maybe u will believe the USCIS site itself

https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-studies/immigration-forms-data/understanding-our-data

Understanding Our Data

USCIS processes an average of 8 million applications, petitions and requests annually. We strive to make as much data about various aspects of USCIS operations available to the public as possible. We do so to improve public understanding of the immigration system and our role in it, as well as to comply with required reporting mandates.

Dated documents are always best when completed close to the interview date.

Hi all,

I sent my petition on 4/27/19 and it arrived at Lewisville on 5/1/19. First NOA1 dated 5/6/19. The problem:(??? After going over my packet with a fine tooth comb for several week before mailing it off, I still somehow made an error on my beneficiary's DOB and noticed it on 4/30. USCIS CSR recommended I wait until  I receive my NOA1 and case/receipt# to write a letter explaining the error and would be sent a receipt/confirmation letter when changes were made. I did a bit a research online on how to construct the letter and this is how I found this forum in the first pace lol. However, after mailing off this letter to the CA processing center on 5/14/19, a month goes by w/o a confirmation letter/email or myaccount  on the uscis site updated. That's when I realized that I added an extra number to the receipt #. I don't know what impact it had because ever other identify info on the letter was 100% correct. Nevertheless, I mailed of the same letter again with the corrected receipt #, waited for a few weeks and spoke with CSR who informed me that since I was never sent an RFE  I will not be getting a confirmation letter. The CSR also clued me into what they can an cannot see on their end and what they can and cannot answer. So calling them any further is a big waist.

I'm looking at the processing timelines and while I fully understand everyone's case is different, I am still highly anticipating my NOA2 at the end of July and I am concerned that the errors I have made might result in delay.

Has anyone preemptively sent in corrections and/or evidence to their petition without an RFE?

Yes I did. I noticed an error I made and called USCIS and a CSR told me to mail a letter. The CSR didn’t tell me I would get a confirmation. So I’m hoping they received and accepted it. We’ll see. I expect my petition to get adjucated soon. Hoping for the best
