Old site (also the data source for all 'USCIS case tracker' apps): https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

 
New : https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

 

(you have to create an account and add your case # to it) Neither is more reliable (and it's very possible you won't see anything on either, and will have to just wait for the physical mail). For a while it looked like they were phasing out the "old" site, but that trend seems to have reversed itself and there are still lots of cases that show up on only one (or much earlier on one than the other). 
We can't opine on which is more accurate. Your mileage may vary.

Received RFE in the mail yesterday.  Had only one thing on it and it was P3 Q4a where they ask about prior criminal record.  I missed that question and left I blank.  I feel so stupid!  It's a "yes" or "no" question we just accidentally skipped over...

 

I have one question about RFE... my fiancé and I noticed another mistake while we were waiting for the RFE in the mail.  We used a passport photo for the beneficiary that is almost 3 years old and was used for her previous USA tourist visa.  The RFE DID NOT ASK for any updated photos.  Should we try to correct other mistakes when we send back this RFE?  Or should we stick only to what they want?

I would just answer to what is asked on the RFE personally ... I would be scared that giving things they didn't ask for would create more delay (but that's just me)

Do not send more then what is asked for in the RFE. That is a black hole you don't want to fall into.!!!!

What’s the trend on when you can get an update from NVC? I know they say after 30 days.. but maybe someone can give an idea if this might be earlier than expected. Thanks!

Any day that ends "y". There is no consistent answer for your question. We have see 1 day, 1 month and beyond.

Aw! Try not to beat yourself up about it.  Its really easy to skip over some of the questions,  especially with the way some of the questions are grouped on the application. 

 

I would only send what they ask for.  The old passport photo may not be an issue, no need to highlight it.

Today I will send back my RFE. I was hoping to show you all, just to make sure I am doing this right. It seems all I have to do is check 1 box, then send the pages back in the pre-addresses envelope.
