Just joined to give some bad news. Received our RFE today (Aug 7). Filed May 5, received NOA 1 May 9. 

 

I thought i did did everything perfectly, and though it would be fine. I feel terrible. 😭

 

Any advice what to do from here? I didn’t even look into RFEs since I thought I would be ok.

When you enter the k1 forum on here, there’s a topic pinned to the top of the page that says RFE masterlist. Look through those and see if any apply to your petition. Best of luck to you.

Don't  look at it as bad news especially  if it's  something easy fixable, just a slight setback is all. Read your RFE carefully and give them what they ask for no more no less and you'll be fine.

How were you notified?  Old site, new site, email, or text?   Just curious.  I have a NOA1 of May 9 as well but mine is with the Cali location which looks like it’s running one day behind.  Let us know when you find out what the RFE is.  Your the second person here in the forum with an early May NOA1 and a RFE.

Oh wow. At least it wasn't a flat out denial. I hope it's an easy fix. Does it state what you missed? I'm still waiting to receive mine in the mail.

I checked the status of my case on the USCIS site—not sure which is old and new. It’s the first that comes up on google. 

 

Talking with my girlfriend, I realized she used the same passport photos as her American visa photo from 3 years ago... were thinking it’s probably that. Big oversight on our part. But this is just speculation. I will inform everyone when I get it. I’ll also call today to see if that does anything.

Sounds about right... I think they need to be taken within 6 months of when you send them off.
