I have a problem accessing the online site of the USA embassy . I  live in algeria and I can't register on the site for a non immigrant visa because it doesn't pass the first page. After I print the code i cant go past that. I tried going to a travel agency, and they told me that the USA embassy is not currently accepting visa application? But the national visa center said that if that were true they would have been alerted and they weren't.

I'm not sure why the site isn't working for me reliably or why the national visa center and the travel agency are telling me two different things.

Can anyone provide me with some information with what I should do/try next? Or insight? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is that when I try to apply , the confirmation code page is OK , then everything after it stop ,I tried so many times but nothing , thought it was connection problem but the WiFi I used is so quick , when I went to travel agency , they told me the us embassy r not accepting any renewals or applications this period. I'm so confused and frustrated ;(

Have you tried with a different web browser?

it seems odd that the travel agent would have this information but that nothing official seems to be on the website.  Additionally, the visa processing time for visit visas for Algiers is currently given as 4 days (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/wait-times.html ) whereas for places where there are issues with issuing visas it shows that (eg Havana and Caracas both come up as temporarily closed, Moscow has a 300 day wait time). So I don’t know about this travel agent. I’d say try a different web browser first ?

Nowhere except the travel agent apparently.

like I said, it should be on the processing page for visas which lists by consulate if there are issues.

I’m not clear if you tried to follow the instructions, in order, on this page?

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/dz/dz-niv-visaapply.asp

did you first fill in the DS160 like it says? From the steps listed here it looks like registration at usatraveldocs comes after completion of the DS160. I’m not entirely clear what page you are talking about when you say it won’t let you past that.

I looked up the website, and no such info. I am seeing there is an issue getting past the initial page.

SusieQQQ the page I was talking about was the DS-160 , I can't pass the first page which contains the confirmation code , after that the site don't work and u have a different confirmation code every time.

WeGuyGal thanks for replying , and that's what confused me , why there is nothing on the site telling me there is an issue but in the same time I can't apply.

Isn’t the DS160 a general ceac site and not Algerian specific?

Well, can you call the embassy and ask them? At least then you’ll know for sure if there is some kind of issue.

Don’t know what you’re doing, but when I went into the DS160 page, selected Algiers, entered captcha code, it took me past the initial page to the page with application ID & the security question, and past that into the starting page of the actual ds160 itself. Which first page can’t you get past?
