Were u able to get a response ? Was the visa issued by now?

Email the embassy notifying them that u have uploaded the documents. Then they will view them.

We have 14 emails between us and the embassy for the past month showing them screenshots that we have uploaded the documents but they are saying they can’t view them and insisting that we submit. They are not accepting them by email either.

NVC has stopped taking calls, so we are wondering how did any of you get out of this bottleneck?

Try re submitting them. Delete the previous upload from ceac If u can and then re upload the document. Then email them again saying u have re uploaded it and ask them to check. Hopefully this does the trick. Best of luck and dont lose hope! :) also make sure u uploaded them under the correct person (i.e applicant or petitioner etc). Inform them in the email exactly where u uploaded the document. I know u sent screenshots but trust me sometimes the embassy really doesnt have a clue and needs to be specifically guided as to what was uploaded and where exactly it was uploaded to. It could be a problem on the embassy side. Dont worry. Ask them if u can delete and re submit the doc and then see if they are able to see it. Also, if the submit button still isnt working make sure that the document says "uploaded" once u have uploaded it. If the submit button works hit it after uploading it, if it doesnt then be assured that the embassy is still able to access ur doc despite not hitting the submit button. Make sure u hit upload though after u attach the doc so it ensures it is officially uploaded. Best of luck!

Thank you so much for being so helpful! Luckily we were able to get an answer from them today so I hope this helps someone.

In case the button isn’t working, check if there are any other documents that were rejected or missing from other sections. Try deleting and re-uploading these documents and the button should work!

Best of luck to everyone!

Our problem was that some of the documents were deemed unnecessary by the consulate so they rejected them on the CEAC. When we deleted these documents and re-uploaded them we were able to submit all other documents so check if you have any documents that are rejected or missing from the civil or petitioner or joint sponsors’ documents.
Otherwise maybe try your luck with calling NVC since they own the CEAC. Good luck!

Checking to see anyone else still having this issue. Document Qualified, interview for my husband is on Tuesday March 3 and we have been trying to submit the DS-5540 and the buttons are not working, we cannot even get to the upload screen. We’ve tried it on both our logins and our attorney tried it. Anyone have the same issue?

we contacted the embassy through usadocs. They sent a list of additional questions to sent back to them. We emailed the answers back to them today...

Today both cases the status changed from AP to refused.. Panicking a little. The date did not change. It says the following "A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer. If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete. Please be advised that the processing time varies and that you will be contacted if additional information is needed. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV or the website for the Embassy or Consulate at which you made your visa application.

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV." if anyone has insight PLZ help.. Does that mean the case is rejected???

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem recently.... I've uploaded an additional document requested by the embassy, in the "Affidavit of Support" section (the document status shows "Uploaded"). I've been trying to "submit" the document for days. But the "Submit Documents" button is dead -- it doesn't do anything.

I've tried many workarounds -- different browsers, deleting the uploaded document and re-uploading, ...  But to no effect. I've been logging in for several days to try all my workarounds again and again, but the button is definitely broken.

I notice that the same "Submit Documents" button in the "Applicant Information" section DOES work, since I uploaded and submitted an additional document there.

When logging in to CEAC, there's a message that the site will be down on Monday April 29, so possibly they'll fix this issue. I hope.... In the meantime, we'll just have to bring the additional AOS supporting document to the embassy interview in two weeks. Not enough time to email CEAC or call from overseas about this website problem.

I'm referring to the "Submit Documents" button, in the AOS section of our CEAC account:

Hi HalfWayMark ,

Can you please explain how you resolved this problem?

I'm facing a similar challenge.

Thanks.

OP here, I don't have much to explain about resolving the issue. This was a year ago, and I'm going by memory...

The document I was trying to upload never got uploaded. I printed it and also printed an explanation of the problem with the website, in case during the interview they were needed. Just in case the CO asked. But he didn't, the document wasn't needed at all.

This was for my wife's IR-1 interview at the Manila, Philippines, embassy. If I remember, the document in question was an NBI (police clearance) with birth name -- so everybody's situation might be different, depending on the importance of the documents, the location of the interview, and the CO himself/herself.

I guess it's not surprising that this issue is still around, CEAC seems to be swamped and unresponsive to website issues. If all else fails, I'd recommend bringing a printed copy of the document to the interview and explain the problem.

But the problem is, they won't approve your case without these missing documents. Today they told me to send in my divorce papers for the Affadavit of Support (which was not one of the documents required on their list). I dowloaded them all, then tried to open them. When I opened them, instead of the document, there was a page saying the CEAC page is not working right. So now what? I called and waited online for 55 minutes only to be told, yes the documents are downloaded, but I'm not allowed to open them. You'll just have to wait until somebody looks at them. We are now working on February cases. If I was that lousy at my job as immigration folks, I would have been fired long ago. And their site sucks for sure. There are always problems. I am wondering about downloading them again, and submitting them again. BUT the site may still not be working. How much do I hate immigration? Let me count the ways....

They can see if the papers are there, but they can't open them to see if the download worked. When I opened mine to look, all I saw was a CEAC page saying there was an error. And contact CEAC. Nobody knows their butt from a hole in the ground.
