A question from my friend. She is a citizen of Uzbekistan. Her daughter is a U.S citizen. Daughter wants to file I-130 for mother. The family size of Daughter is 4 (Daughter+husband+2 babies) and total income (Daughter+husband) is roughly 60K.

My friend is confused: Will they have to count her as their family member, too? If yes, then the family size will be 5, right?

Will the income be enough to sponsor Mother or a joint sponsor is needed?

Thanks for the responses! They live in Arizona. I checked the link, thanks! Why $30,170 for the family of 5 if in the link it's 100% of poverty guidelines. Isn't it supposed to be 125% for IR-5?

Yes it is 125%. On the instructions  for the I864 there is a link to a table which gives the correct figure for 125%

$37,712.50

It is, the biggest issue we see on VJ is people bringing over parents and not allowing for Healthcare costs, will she be working, a job with benefits?
