Hello everyone! I got my approved k1 visa first week of April but I recently got my new passport. During my port of entry, what should I show the immigration officer? The passport which the visa was stamped or the new passport?

Thanks in advance :)

You will need to present both.. the current one because you need to use an unexpired passport and the old  one because it contains your visa.

Im pretty certain below is a requirement before you went for your interview & had your K1 visa printed inside it.. was there a clear exemption when you had your interview? did they know you was getting a new passport after the older one had the K1 visa printed in it?!

  • Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. ...
  • A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the U.S. (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).

I didn’t think about that. You’re right. Perhaps an email to the issuing Consulate is in order. Perhaps OP damaged their passport or thought it would be useful to get a new passport to avoid having to get one when in the US.Hopefully the Consulate will be understanding

I read the last bullet of having a valid passport, which the OP has, and that passport has the validity date of at least six months, as it is new. It doesn't say that the visa must be in the valid passport. OP is free to pass through.

OP simply renewed the passport early.   The old passport likely had 6+ months validity remaining but chose to renew before relocating which is perfectly acceptable

YMMV

My situation is different. I work in Belize, Central America but I am originally from the Philippines. Me and fiance went to the Philippines, that time I applied for passport renewal. But then the passport wasn't release on the date I was expecting it to be released. So I went to USA and back in Central America. Since I am an Overseas Filipino Worker, the passport department send my new passport through the Philippines Embassy close to me, which in Mexico. But it too a lot of time before it reach. US Embassy in Belize scheduled me for an interview, got approved for k1 visa. The consul never ask me anything about the validity of my passport. But I have a new passport already. Which is I am so happy about.

Show passport with Visa. Your K-1 will be nullified at PoE as it only good for one entry. You will have your new passport for all other purposes and when dealing with your country consulate or if ever travel after getting AP.

You need to show both passports. You new passport is your current travel document. That's gonna be in their database (I-94). Since your visa is in  your old passport, you also need to show it so they can know you have a k1 Visa.
