My husband and I have not bought a house yet, because my income is self-employed which means they need tax returns from a few years before they will allow my income to count. Because of that, we are just now starting the process to purchase a house. Would proof of starting this journey be helpful? The loan request is currently at the underwriter's office, waiting for approval. By the time we can apply, I can see us having found a house but not having bought it yet. We can apply June 10th.

AOS renewal for 10 year?

Sure, if you say "we're in the process of buying a house" and have evidence of that, it will be important, but showing evidence that you have joint bank accounts and evidence that you both CURRENTLY live together sounds much more important to me.
