Hi all,

I just booked my medical for the 8th of May.

I have all the documents I need except for a letter from the NVC, but we've asked for an email, and I have the CEAC tracker showing "At NVC" but hopefully it's in transit by then.

My question is, how long does the exam typically take? I'm trying to book a train and it's all advance tickets so I don't want to miss out on a train or be waiting around for hours.

Thank you.

Typically it seems to take about an hour, I had shots done too and overall it was 75 mins.

You may want to give yourself a bit of a buffer just in case it takes longer for some reason. Theres plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or a coffee nearby if you do find yourself with a bit too much time on your hands.

About an hour and a half but obviously that depends on whether they are on schedule with appointments. I booked an early afternoon appointment so we could travel after rush hour in the morning and then travel back late afternoon. Do you have far to travel?

Are you familiar with travelling around London?

For me I want to make sure I have more than enough time so if things start taking longer than expected I'm not going to be watching the clock and feeling stressed about making a train home.

We're near Clarkston. When do you think you'll get here? There's a AOS Detroit thread, don't know if you've seen it:

Hoping for early June, but it'll depend on whether my case is shipped to the embassy next week or a fortnight after

I am,

I lived there for some time for work, I don't get too stressed out with travelling. I'm used to it xD

Sounds about right. We had our medicals 11th June, interview 21st June and emigrated on July 20th last year.

A 3 hour window for the medical is sensible.
