Hi everyone,

Just wondering if someone can help me. I was just a bit worried about visiting to Philippines. I've been here in the US for about 5years and we are planning to visit soon. But someone told me that the immigration officers in the airport are very strict and they can hold you or offload. I just dont want to get stuck in the Philippines. Lol. Has someone recently went back to Philippines? How was your trip? Do you have any trouble in the Philippine immigration officer?

No, you won't have any issue at all. Is your passport in your married name or your maiden name? When you go make sure you bring you bring your marriage license and your GC as well.

The only time I have heard of someone having trouble is when a woman went back with her married passport without the CFO sticker on it. She was trying to fly back out of NAIA when she was told that she needed to redo CFO again by airline staff, she did not question it at all or request the supervisor. So she ended up missing her flight and he came on here asking about what to do. Needless to say he never came back to update us on the outcome after seeking advice.

If by strict you mean they don't say much and stamp your passport,  then they are very strict

YMMV

We went back last November with her new "Married Name" Passport.  No issues, either direction. (Other than her look at me from the Filipino line as I didn't wait a second going thru the APEC Line.)

We did take her old passport with the CFO stamp in it and a copy of the ROM. Didn't need it at all.

She did show her green card when leaving.

My wife and I have been back to the Philippines numerous times, never any issues.

As long as you have your green card you will not have issues.   Is your green card and passport in the same name?  If not do carry a copy of your marriage certificate.

There is ZERO issue if your passport does not have the CFO sticker as long as you have your green card.   CFO sticker is for exiting emigrates only ... once you have the green card you are no longer an exiting emigrate.  My wife renewed her passport in the USA (thus no CFO sticker anymore) and traveled numerous time without a CFO sticker having NO issues.

(5 years in the USA, did you complete U.S. citizenship?)

There is no way that person would need to "redo" CFO.  If she had her green card that is evidence of NOT being an exiting emigrate (thousands of Filipino with green cards travel back and forth from the Philippines .. this isn't something Immigration would not be aware of).

If she didn't have her green card, still would not have to redo CFO, just get the sticker,  CFO has her on record for already completing CFO.

I understand that.... But that guy's wife just took it at face value and did not question it. She then missed her flight because of it. It was a combination of things such as the airport staff not knowing, and the woman not questioning the airport staff. I will try to find it on here.

And the big   that I am laying money on .. she didn't pull out her green card.

You don't need to spend time finding the posting .. I don't doubt this happened to her ..  simply flashing her green card would have fixed everything.    I commented on your post for the OP .. so she doesn't go " oh sh**"

I have made numerous trips back and forth, never seen Immigrations in Philippines question or give a hard time to Philippines or US Citizen leaving

I have seen US immigration waiting on the plane after you enter the walkway to enter the plane look for expired visas from Philippines Citizens, mostly in LAX airport only and I have seen it two times
