I'm trying to understand if China requires the K2 applicant to be present at the interview.  There seem to be varying answers to this based on country and age of the child.  Does anyone have any experience with K2 interview requirements for China, or is this something we will learn when scheduling the interview?

The interview notice from Guangzhou will tell you what to do.

Exactly.

Back on 2012, my then 18 year old stepson was requested to be in attendance at his and his mother's visa interview at the GUZ (K1/K2). As I recall his name was listed on the visa appointment email that they got from the IV unit at the GUZ consulate.

Good luck.
